Hearing the words ‘slowing down’, whether it is a yoga teacher or a self -help insanner on Instagram, no matter how well -intended, may feel that they hit my head against a wall.
As if delaying will solve all my problems! Move as quickly as possible or now my hands on the keyboard at work or my body in and out-to-down dog on my yoga mat are to how I try to avoid my stress demons. You know, so that I don’t go in a non -hurried way and really have to feeling Things.
However, it is inevitable, whether I am in Savasana or before I go to sleep at night, the words come in my opinion: slow. Down. So I do. And I feel a feeling of calmness that reminds me almost immediately that, because of the bad, annoying, unpleasant or otherwise boring things in life, I also go straight beyond the warm and fuzzy stuff.
The same principle applies to delaying in any aspect of life – especially during yoga. That is why I often find it necessary to find a practice that will show me how I can delay. It is always worth it.
5 slow yoga practices to help you feel yourself again
Going slowly on the yoga mat is perhaps outside your comfort zone, but each of these practices offer the opportunity to strengthen the “slow” muscles in your body and your mind. Note which sensations, emotions and experiences arise as a result of deliberate movement.

1. 15 minutes slow flow yoga practice
Sitting and back-oriented yoga phoses are supposed to be an energetic sense of orientation, and this electricity by Tamika Caston-Miller is proof of this. While moving between the child’s pose and Cobra or Lage Lunge and half splits, you might wonder why someone ever Get up in yoga when they stay based, feel so relaxing.
Caston-Miller offers encouraging words everywhere, including “I don’t have to look at anyone else to give me a feeling of stability [or] A feeling of calm or peace. ‘It is the perfect confirmation for this practice.

2. Fast yoga current to help you slow down
On the busiest days, even 20 minutes can sound more time than you can take for yoga. But if the power feels good, like it by Alyssa Lauren Stone, you might want it to take even longer. Although it is a calming practice, you will be mentally stimulated by many active poses (slowly not boring!) Such as Bridge Pose and Down Dog.
There is also something about learning a new pose that can be a mindfulness activity in itself. That is what I experienced when Stone Scorpio Twist, a satisfactory spine and shoulder sign.

3. 15 minutes of morning yoga for when you want to move slowly
If you are like me, don’t associate mornings with the word ‘slow’. But perhaps that is the largest indicator that this time of the day should have to Embrace a calmer pace. Don’t get me wrong, this exercise of yoga with Kassandra is super active (you go through three -fern dogs and warrior 3). But the flow taps into the magic that happens when slow and deliberate movement is combined with energetic and stimulating postures. This series can help you bring the same atmosphere to your day.

4. 10 minutes Yoga practice for lazy days (no energy required)
Taylor Lorenz starts this exercise by saying: “Not much trouble at all today.” Not much of us want us to hear those words each day? Going consciously through this power, you have enough time to set up your alignment in pieces such as Cow Face Pose and actually enjoy the physical sensations of the postures. I especially like the dreamy variation of Lorenz in Head-to-Knie in which a block supports the elbow and the face is against one palm. Heavenly.

5. Restorative yoga for beginners
There is something directly soothing to the use of props in yoga. And when you can use them in every pose of a series, it is even more relaxing. In the recovering yoga practice of Amber Burke you move through various lying positions – on your stomach, on your side and on your back – while giving up the weight of your body against bolsters (or pillows!) And blankets. Pro -tip: moving the props in position is also part of the practice. If you do this slowly and deliberately, you have already set the atmosphere before the pose before you are even in it.
