3D-printed lamps from a Paris Atelier (Documentary)

Discover Lucas Zito’s Paris Atelier, where 3D-printed lamps are mixed and technology. Inspired by city life, his work shows how the design starts with observation.

Design often starts with how we go through the world. In this short documentary we meet Lucas Zito, a Paris -based designer Whose Atelier investigates the intersection of Ambacht and Technology through a series of 3D-printed lamps.

What is striking in the film are not only the objects, but the Zito process. His ideas are formed by moments of observation while cycling through the streets of Paris. From the rhythm of architecture to the patterns of daily life, these impressions inform forms that feel both organic and architecturally. It is a memory that inspiration does not always arrive in the studio, it is collected along the way, in the normal details that we might otherwise pass.

The idea is usually to take something that fascinates me like a bass relief or a very industrial pattern on train tracks and then to extract something that I find replaceable and interesting. – Lucas Zito

The resulting documents show how digital tools such as 3D printing can become a medium for personal interpretation. Each lamp is more than a functional object, it is a reflection of time spent paying attention, translating the textures and geometries of the city into tangible design.

The film itself, directed by Dylan HaynesProduced by and face (Enface-films.com) and shot by Tom Black (@tomblackdp), this process records with silent focus, the location of Zito’s contemporary work within the timeless creative energy of Paris.

For designers it is an encouraging memory: stay attentive, stay curious and let the world around you inform your practice. Inspiration is everywhere, it just takes enough to notice it.

Watch the film below to enter Lucas Zito’s Atelier and see how observation and technology go together in a unique personal design language.
