Alex Morono Javid Basharat and Lucas Almeida are reportedly no longer part of the UFC roster. According to the reputable X account ‘UFC selection watch’, the three men have been removed from the UFC, despite Basharat picking up a win last weekend.

There’s no big surprise that the UFC is parting ways with either Alex Morono or Lucas Almeida, as neither man has impressed in recent fights.
Alex Morono Javid Basharat and Lucas Almeida have all retired from the UFC
Alex Morono
Alex Morono joined the UFC in 2016, starting with two straight decision victories. The American peaked in 2021 when he recorded three wins in a row, including an impressive knockout of Donald Cerrone.
However, in recent times he has gone 2-6 in his last eight fights, and despite asking for one last fight in the UFC after his loss last weekend, it was not granted. The UFC is not a charity where they are obligated to give veterans another fight just because they asked for it. Four mediocre performances during the jump warranted his removal.
Someone leaving the UFC doesn’t make sense Javid Basharat.
Javid Basharat
After an impressive start to his professional MMA career, Javid Basharat won a spot on the Contender Series. Basharat wasn’t concerned about his opponent, Oron Kahlon, losing weight and went on to submit him and land a UFC contract.

Three consecutive decision victories put him in good shape early in his career, and despite a no-contest and two straight defeats, Basharat was able to win again last weekend (against another opponent who missed weight).
Lucas Almeida
Lucas Almedia’s departure from the UFC, like that of Alex Morono, does not come as a big surprise. The Brazilian never returned to work after landing a UFC contract. With a 2-3 record with the promotion, including a weight loss and two fight withdrawals, it’s hard to argue that Almeida should have stayed.
