The Porsche Cayenne is extremely important for the brand – it has been the way since the introduction of the model in 2002. The SUV is floating for the brand, and that is why it is logical that, even after the 2023 update, Porsche is looking to keep the SUV fresh with a new update in 2027. The Macan EV. Given the relatively recent new generation of Cayenne, we can expect moderate tweaks elsewhere.

The 2027 Cayenne gets a whole new look
In 2027 you can expect small tweaks from the Cayenne, aesthetically speaking. The 2027 update will more than likely bring exclusive looks for the electric counterpart of the Cayenne, including unique wheel options, as well as fascias front and rear. There are probably also a few subtle interior dates for the EV, especially in the form of new drive modes and menu options for navigating the electric drive of the SUV.
In the meantime, burning versions will probably see new front and rear fascia. It is possible that there are also further updates in the store for the interiors of the gas model, but expect it almost not to exist, because the 2026 model year has recently introduced updated hardware to make the screens more responsively, as well as an integrated Porsche App Store with which you can download some new third party apps, such as Amazon Alexa.
What happens under the hood?
There is something more going on under the hood. Porsche recently confirmed that the Cayenne will retain its V8 engine against the tide of downsizing in gas-driven cars. However, the V8 in the Cayenne is not standard, although we suspect that the V6 of the model will also linger. That will probably also be true for the plug-in hybrid versions of the SUV, which will benefit from the aesthetic updates of the SUV, but should not see great mechanical changes.
Of course the Cayenne EV will be a completely new view of the SUV. It will probably offer more power than the more basic versions of the SUV – perhaps more than 500 hp can be in store. Of course, higher driven versions of the Cayenne EV are probably too, and it would not be surprising to see more than 600 hp here. Porsche’s most powerful EVs, such as the Taycan Turbo GT, finally produce more than 1,000 hp.
The SUV must also use the newest in Porsche’s 800-Volt architecture, which means extremely fast and a solid reach. The Macan EVFor example, uses this and nets about 315 miles of reach in the basic finish. Expect similar, if not slightly higher figures from the equivalent of Cayenne. The larger frame is suitable for a larger battery, but more weight and drag from a larger SUV will probably mean more marginally more reach than the Macan EV.
Porsche has driven a lot on the updated Cayenne
Porsche says that the updated Cayenne EV will appear this year. The SUV of the company stimulates a serious volume and we also have high expectations for the Cayenne EV. The Macan EV of the brand drives like a Porsche, goes like one and feels like one from the inside. However, that also means that it is terribly expensive, and we expect that the Cayenne EV is more the case. Porsche really nickel-and-dime customers with optical costs, and we hope for more standard kit in the Cayenne in response, especially given the sales success that the Macan EV has seen. The model also stimulates a large sale for Porsche, and the model must continue to do this as Porsche changes to more electrified models with the last year of the 718 production.
