The Leapmotor C10, which was launched here in October 2024, will get a new update in Malaysia very soon, and it will bring “more power” and “more range”, according to a teaser post Leapmotor Malaysia posted on its social channels.
The all-electric SUV was already updated last year, but the changes were minor, consisting of a switch from a 6.6 kW on-board AC charger to an 11 kW unit and a number of new kits, including a direct tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a motorized tire inflation kit and a tonneau cover for the rear luggage compartment.
This time there will be more significant mechanical changes, as suggested by the mentions above. Essentially, the Malaysian refresh is likely to introduce the revisions to the domestic update for the SUV that was introduced in China last year.

The reason for the changes is a nice increase in power: the China update produced 299 PS (295 PS or 220 kW), an increase of 68 PS (67 PS or 50 kW) compared to the 231 PS (228 PS or 170 kW) of the previous C10 sold there. It remains to be seen whether the 2026 version coming our way will follow exactly this example, as our C10 has a slightly lower power of 218 PS (215 hp or 160 kW) than the earlier Chinese version to begin with.
If so, you can expect the car’s 0-100km/h sprint time to drop to 5.9 seconds, compared to 7.5 seconds for the current Malaysian car. The other promise of more range comes from a larger capacity battery. The unit is still a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) unit, but it is now a 74.9 kWh pack compared to the existing 69.9 kWh unit.
As a result, the range on a single charge is greater, with the new car having a CLTC range of 605 km, or approximately 495 km WLTP, which is approximately 70 km more than the current C10 (424 km, WLTP). Last year it was also mentioned that the Chinese C10 was switching from a 400V architecture to an 800V architecture, so barring any surprises, that should be coming our way too.

Otherwise, you can expect the same exterior and interior for the car, with a new purple exterior color, power door handles and a 50-watt wireless charging pad among the only minor cosmetic and kit revisions. No indication of price, but the price of the current C10 was reduced to RM125,000 from RM159,000 in June last year.
The other question is whether the 2026 update will arrive as a locally assembled vehicle – the company had previously indicated that the C10 would go the CKD route, with assembly taking place at Stellantis’ existing factory in Gurun. Kedah was supposed to start at the end of last year, so it only makes sense that the new car would be CKD. We’ll know soon enough.
