The second generation Chery Tiggo 8 was unveiled in China prior to his official launch in the last quarter of 2025. If it looks a lot like Lepas 8, it is because the newest Tiggo 8 is essentially the same model, but with a different name for his home market.
In contrast to the SUV of Chery’s Lepas Submerk, the new Tiggo 8 is offered with two different fascia styles at the front in China. The person who simulates the Lepas 8 (and the current Tiggo 8 Plus in China) has split headlights, an “eye-like” day-light day drawing and a pre-grid with an X-shaped gaa pattern.
The second look has more in common with the Tiggo Cross that was recently launched here. Remarkable design instructions include a hexagonally shaped grid with diamond-shaped pens for the insert and larger headlights that integrated L-shaped day-running lights, the latter resulted in a upholstery with a pattern that is accompanied by side air curtains.
At the back we find the full width rear lights with chery letters above, while the number plate recess is further pushed between the double exhaust fencing. Flush Pop-out Door handles are new to the newest Tiggo 8, as can also be seen on Lepas 8. At the moment the company does not reveal the interior, but we think it will be similar to Lepas 8 by a vertically oriented central touchscreen, a simple dashboard cluster with a full-width aerial distance.
According to CarnewschinaThe upcoming Tiggo 8 is larger than its predecessor, with a measurement of 4.749 mm (+27 mm), 1,880 mm wide (+20 mm), 1,710 mm (-35 mm) and with a wheelbase of 2,825 mm (+115 mm).
No powertrain details for the time being, so we will have to wait for Chery to release them later. In Indonesia, the LEPAS L8 is launched with a plug-in hybrid system based on a 1.5-liter turbo engine and front-wheel drive.
