Greatest power: Pass Rush
Under the leadership of Elite defender Micah Parsons, the cowboys are the most dangerous when forcing opponents in obvious passing situations. Despite the fact that Parsons missed four games, Dallas was still fourth in the NFL in Passrush Grade last season. Osa Odighizuwa contributed 60 interior pressure and the team strengthened this passing depth this season outside of season with additions such as Dante Fowler Jr. And second round Rookie Donovan Ezeiruaku.
Biggest weakness: Run Defense
The Run Defense of the Cowboys lagged well on their pass rush in 2024 and finished for Carolina only in Team Run-Defense Grade. The most important problem was a lack of impact on the line of Scrimmage-Micah Parsons led all Dallas-defending rules in Run-Defense Grade at only 65.5. Without major additives outside of potential contributions from Rookie Donovan Ezeiruaku, the cowboys need an improved game of last year’s core to strengthen this weakness.
Quarterback Spotlight: Dak Prescott

Dak Prescott has passed the worst season of his career in 2024 before a seasonal injury in week 9. His 67.2 passing figure and 4.7% turnovering playing speed were both career lows. Without a reliable vertical threat to Ceedee Lamb, defenses can spend extra coverage to Lamb, so that Prescott’s ability to get him the ball. That issue was the most clearest in the intervening passing competition, where Prescott took a competition of 45.7 passed figure.
Offensive player: WR CEEDEE LAMB
Ceedee Lamb’s 79.9 receiving figure in 2024 was his lowest since his Rookie season in 2020. Without a real secondary receiving threat in Dallas’s attack, Lamb stood for stricter coverage than in recent years. While the defense condensed their sun coverage against him, he struggled to create his usual divorce in the short passing game, where he placed an 80.4 figure on goals within 0 to 9 Yards, almost 15 points lower than his Stellare 2023 marking.
Defensive player: Edge Micah Parsons
In just four NFL seasons, Micah Parsons cemented his place under the elite of the competition. Since 2021, he has been running all qualified Edge defenders in print percentage and is only in second place to Myles Garrett in Passrush degree, Win Rate and PFF victories above replacement. In 2024 he again only lagged Garrett in Pass-Rush degree among edge defenders with at least 300 snaps.
Rookie To Watch: OG Tyler Booker
Dallas is in 22nd place last season in Pass-Blocking figure, but first round Rookie Tyler Booker could help change. In his last year in Alabama, Booker earned an 83.5 real Pasblokkeergraden-fourth best among qualified guards. That pass protection skills, combined with his strength in the Downhill Run game, gives him the potential to be an immediate acquisition for the attacking line of the cowboys.
Fantasy Spotlight: RB Jaydon Blue
Blue spent his career in Texas as a backup and often played high draws such as Bijan Robinson and Jonathon Brooks. In limited opportunities he was impressed by a recipient, on average 1.58 yards per routerun. He now joins a completely renewed backfield of cowboys, where Dallas continues from Rico Downle, Ezechiel Elliott and Dalvin Cook, and Javonte Williams, Miles Sanders, Blue and Phil Mafah. With the competition wide open, Blue will probably fight Williams for passing on Snaps, while also insisting on early work.
Best bet: WR George Pickens – More than 5.5 touchdowns received (+102)
In three seasons in PittsburghPickens managed to catch up with a touchdown of four different quarterbacks. Six scores in one season would be a career high for the 24-year-old, who registered five in 2023 with a spotty game at Quarterback. With roof prescott back under the middle in Dallas, heaven is the limit for Pickens. In his last full season in 2023, Prescott supported three goals with eight or more touchdown receptions.
Bottom Line
The cowboys have sufficient star power to reach the late season if Roof Prescott can prove that last year’s struggles were a breaker. Questions about their ability to run the ball and stop the run can, however, place a hard cap about how far they can move forward as soon as they are there.
