Greatest strength: Josh Allen
The MVP-winning Quarterback from Buffalo remains the basis of the success of the team. Despite a defense that was in 28th place last season in PFF degree and a receiving corps that ended 17th without a real elite option, Josh Allen kept wearing the bills in Super Bowl. Until Buffalo proves that it can win in other ways, all remains the heartbeat of the franchise.
Largest weakness: protections
The accounts placed the second worst coverage in the NFL last season, with many of their problems as a result of defending the center of the field. The Buffalo protections are in 31st place in coverage and largely return the same group in 2025. Unless young players such as Cole Bishop or Jordan Hancock make considerable steps, this can remain a striking weakness for the defense.
Quarterback Spotlight: Josh Allen

All is the heartbeat of the accounts. His Elite Dual-DREAT Power was completely visible last season, which led the NFL with a big-time throw of 7.0% and a 93.6 hasty figure on the way to his first MVP price. He also showed growth in the ball protection and placed a career-bear 2.6% sales-worthy playing speed. Allen is undoubtedly a top-four Quarterback in the competition and has the opportunity to win games every week.
Offensive player: HB James Cook
Cook made full use of Buffalo’s balanced attacking approach by leading the NFL in hasty touchdowns last season. His career-high 88.6 Hurry rank is in the eighth place of qualified running backs. Cook is one of the most consistent Backfield artists of the competition, forced in the top 15 of missed tackles, yards after contact and explosive runs (including the after -season).
Defensive player: Ed Greg Rousseau
Rousseau has settled as one of the top edge defenders of the NFL and set up an 80.0-plus pff figure for the third consecutive season in 2024. He led the team with 70 prints and 11 bags. His impact cannot be denied – when Rousseau was on the field, the defense of Buffalo placed a respectable 65.7 pff figure. Without him that number dropped to only 50.6 over 413 snaps.
Rookie to watch: CB Maxwell Hairston
Towards the end of the season, Buffalo is clapping for answers to Cornerback opposite Christian Benford. The accounts count on the first round Pick Maxwell Hairston to stabilize the position. A speed star with strong instincts in zone cover, Hairston has placed an 84.2 zone cover in Kentucky in the past two seasons.
Fantasy Spotlight: The Dalton Kincaid
Dalton Kincaid flashed potential as Rookie, including a stretch in the middle season where he had an average of 14 PPR points per match and placed a few 80-year trips to close the regular season. His second year, however, was largely forgetting. He only scored two touchdowns and never surpassed 55 receiving yards in a competition. Kincaid on average only 21 routes per game and saw the third most non-catchable goals between tight ends. Injuries obstructed his campaign from 2024, which probably influenced both his playing time and a report with Josh Allen. While Dawson Knox remains in the picture, there is still a reasonable argument for a significant improvement of Kincaid this season.
Best bet: Wr Khalil Shakir-Lake then 775.5 Receiving yards (-110)
Shakir’s breakout from 2024 was not only fed by an increased volume, but also by elite efficiency. The 25-year-old was arranged in the 85th percentile or better in various important receiving statistics, including separation percentage (97th), yards after catching per reception (94th) and yards per route run (85th). With Josh Allen’s confidence, Shakir is ready to take another step forward as a dynamic final weapon.
Bottom Line
As long as Josh Allen is healthy, the bills remain favorites to win the AFC East. However, their championship hopes to depend on whether the defense – a unit that is consistently subject to in the late season – can take a meaningful step forward.
