When the facelifted Honda HR-V was launched two weeks ago, it was only shown in Sumpling Topping E: HEV RS-Trim, without present gasoline variants. Fortunately, Sumber Auto Edaran, a dealer in section 13, Petaling Jaya, had a unit of the 1.5 Turbo V for us to check, and we realized that there might be a reason for the ice models that were hidden from sight so far.
No, it’s not the price – at RM137.900The V is a non-hand-handy RM6,000 cheaper than the RS, and although it is much more expensive than the basic RM115.900 S, the turbo engine and several pieces of added kit seem worth it.
It is also not the above-mentioned engine, which is a recurring 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo four-cylinder that makes 181 PS at 6,600 rpm and 240 Nm torque of 1,700 and 4,500 rpm. All this is sent to the front wheels as always by a CVT, which means that it can come from zero to 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds on the way to a top speed of 200 km/h. Fuel consumption is now assessed at 6.5 liters per 100 km.

Instead, it is probably the appearance. The V receives the most design changes from the facelift, including the mildly advanced bumper and flatter hexagonal grid, as well as the bodykit that is exclusively for the turbo and e: HEV variants-full with the recurring “heart rate” trim on the air inlet of the front. Twin visible exhausts (turbo only) and the two-tone finish for the reach-topping 18-inch alloys (only V and RS, re-introduced on the renewal) are also mounted.
However, the gasoline models lose the most important improvement in the facelifted HR-V-Matrix LED headlights with center mounted projectors, making active bend lights and adaptive high beam possible. These are exclusive to the RS, which means that the rest of the range retains the previous LED reflectors.
Perhaps an even more striking omission is the new rear lights. The old ones that are seen here are still the entire width, but they lose the illuminated center strips that give the RS model a much slimmer look. This has the extra effect of making the new gasoline models that are indistinguishable from the older car from behind.

Further items are connected from the interior, which the new slimline (still not preserved, but no longer resembles a CRT television) eight-inch Touchscreen main unit-nu with wireless Apple-Carplay and Android Auto-Samen with USB-C charges and the Symmetrical “Plank” Wikkelel “wikkel Smartphone storage space.
Here the V loses the Qi threadless charger of the RS in that telephone storage slot, as well as Dual-Zone Air Con, automatic windscreen wipers and RS-specific alloy pedals and Stoellogoembossing. However, you still get the new auto-retractable side mirrors, eight-riders of powerful adjustable driver’s seat, leather upholstery and eight speakers. A hands -free powered tailgate, formerly exclusively for the RS, has now also been expanded to the V.
Other standard kit on the V includes successive indicators, front and rear fog lights, key-free entrance with Walk-away automatic locking, external motorart, paddle shifters, a seven-inch partially digital instrument Display, Honda’s characteristic rear ultrast chairs and an over-covered camera. Six airbags, the Honda Lanewatch camera and the Honda Sensing Suite or Driver Assists – including autonomous emergency brakes, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane, the present departure warning and car high beam are also mounted.
