Two people were shot in the Nalanda district in Bihar after a dispute among children of two families became violent, the police said on Monday. The incident came days after a businessman in Patna was shot in a case with regard to personal enmity.
The incident took place in the village of Dumrawan in Nalanda on Sunday evening when the two families opened the fire during the dispute. The victims were identified as Annu Kumari (22) and the 24-year-old Himanshu Kumar, Nalanda said deputy SP Ram Dular Prasad.
“After receiving information about the shooting incident, a police team immediately reached the place and brought the wounded to the nearest government hospital, where they were declared dead. Bodies were sent for post-mortem exams. The exact cause of the incident is not known,” said Prasad.
Villagers claimed a dispute among the children of two families about a game that became violent and started shooting both parties.
A case was registered and there was an investigation into the case, the officer said.
The families of the victims also organized a protest outside the hospital about the alleged lack of facilities to manage emergencies.
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav hit the government-led government about the double murder in Nalanda and said: “Criminals were happy and the police were exhausted”.
“Murder in Patna. Double murder in Nalanda !! Criminals are happy and the police are exhausted! The main minister is unconscious, officers are numb and the system is lifeless! Nobody listens to someone,” he tweeted.
The incident in Nalanda came days after a prominent businessman was shot in Patna in the night of July 4 by a non -created attacker. Gopal Khemka, the victim, was about to step out of his car outside his home when the firing took place.
Preliminary findings suggest that the murder was premeditated and several people were concerned.
Patna Police held more than a dozen suspects on Sunday, including one who had attended the funeral of Khemka on July 6.
