The standout moments didn’t just appear on the court during the 2025 Nitto ATP Finals.
An unexpected moment of romance took center stage in Turin on Tuesday afternoon, just minutes before the number 1 in the PIF ATP rankings took Carlos Alcaraz to court over his match against Taylor Fritz. A fan attending the prestigious season finale from Mexico City, Isidoro Shrem, got down on one knee to propose to his girlfriend Susy Harari in their seats at the Inalpi Arena.
“I was nervous before, and when it came to the moment, I was extremely nervous,” Isidoro, whose romantic moment was broadcast live on the jumbotron at center court, later told ATPTour.com. “But everything turned out fine.”
Susy added: “[It was] a great experience. The tournament is really fun and I didn’t expect it [the proposal] not at all. It was really a very breathtaking experience.”

Isidoro and Susy, who have been together for four and a half years, are regulars at HSBC’s Abierto Mexicano Telcel presentation, an ATP 500 event in Acapulco, Mexico, but are visiting the Nitto ATP Finals for the first time this week. Both are big tennis fans and the couple named Carlos Alcaraz as their favorite player.
Alcaraz certainly didn’t let Isidoro and Susy down on their special day: Immediately after the Mexican couple’s engagement, they watched the Spaniard battle to a 6-7(2), 7-5, 6-3 victory in his Jimmy Connors Group match with Fritz.
“I’m Alcaraz’s biggest fan. It’s the first time we’ve seen him,” said Susy, who revealed that she and Isidoro also watched the Spaniard’s opening win against Alex de Minaur in Turin on Sunday, but ultimately missed it after their flight was delayed. “I was very nervous, but I love Alcaraz and how he turned it around, I loved it.”
“The match was amazing, he did some things that were breathtaking,” Isidoro said. “Alcaraz is also such a great player and person, because he gets the crowd excited and everything. We will never forget this day. It will be the highlights of our lives.”
