The arrested persons were subjected to on-the-spot tests using drug detection kits in the presence of their parents. The results confirmed the consumption of ganja. The individuals were counseled in the presence of their parents or guardians and then referred to certified detoxification and rehabilitation centers for treatment and monitoring.
The consumers arrested include Azhar, 26; Hari Prasad alias Mintu, 24; Mahesh, 29; Kailashnath, 25; Sravan Kumar, 34; Tejaswi Raj Singh, 36; Azharuddin, 30; Aman, 24; Adnan Ahmed, 21; Sahit, 25; and Sai Kiran, 26, mainly living in Secunderabad and Hakeempet. Their occupations range from corporate and sales positions to service and business positions.
After completing their detox programs, the unit will continue to contact the individuals and their families to provide the necessary support. Additional help is available through Narco Anonymous, an NGO that provides free and confidential help to people struggling with drug addiction.
The officials highlighted that Telangana has recently witnessed alarming drug overdose-related incidents, including fatalities in Chandrayangutta, Balapur and Rajendranagar, underscoring the urgent need for vigilance and timely intervention. Citizens, parents and young people are urged to remain alert, monitor risk behavior and report suspicious drug-related activity to the EAGLE Force.
