At least ten people died in rain -related incidents in Maharashtra for 24 hours, and more than 11,800 were saved from different parts of the state, officials said on Sunday.
According to the Disaster Management department and other officials, four people lost their lives in the Nashik district, including three due to a collapse of the house, two each in Dharashiv and Ahilyanagar, and one in Jalna and Yavatmal.
In Marathwada, one of the worst affected regions, the inflow into the Jayakwadi dam to the Godavari River has increased, so that the authorities open all its gates. In Beed, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) saved 12 stranded residents of the Sangvi temple in Aashti, while 970 people who were moved to safer places within the jurisdiction of Nanded Municipal Corporation.
The Godavari River flows into a nanded district at a water level of approximately 354 meters.
