10 forgotten motorcycles that still run heads in 2025

Every year motorcycle manufacturers fight for our attention and launch one beautiful new motorcycle after the other. The result of this is that we are now spoiled for choice, with a motorcycle that is available for every conceivable rider. Although this is great, the unfortunate reality is that various great bicycles are actually buried among all the “newest” models.

It is sufficient to say that the latter is not always the best. We are talking about bicycles that have been on the market for a while, but still have the opportunity to run heads wherever they go. Because of the variety, we have limited it to one motorcycle per brand, and they have also tried to record at least one bike from each motorcycle segment, including scooters and trikes.

Honda XR650L

According to all accounts, it seems as if the old XR650L is now in the last production year. That high chair has always been a limiting factor, but for those who can handle it, you will be rewarded with 13 centimeters of ground freedom. For those who are looking for a reliable off-road bike that can be done quite literally everywhere, we simply cannot think of a better bike.

Objectively, most of us will ultimately collect more kilometers of living – work traffic – if this is the primary role of your bike is basistran sports. It has a really tasteful design and a thorough modern bike underneath. We just have to give Kawasaki the honor for resisting the temptation to add a TFT. The Old-School Digi-Analog Dash is a touch of class.

Spec-sheet warriors will quickly reject the Bout R-Spec out of hand. It is not the most powerful cruiser on the market, but it has enough power to get to the highway speed. It also has an authentic air-cooled V-twin, something that other brands let you pay extra these days. The design is an obvious copy, but the implementation is on point and the build quality is without error.

With so much emphasis on more off-road-oriented adventurous bicycles, more street-oriented ADDs are often rejected. In reality, if you want the “ultimate off-road bike”, a bicycle with double sports such as the aforementioned Honda XR650L is a completely better option. The Tiger 850-Sport is certainly not the best off-road bike, but it is an exceptional tourer that handles the foreign fire brigade when it is called.

With the GSX-R1000 that will receive a fairly large update this year, it is quite surprising that the GSX-R750 has not been updated. Not much has changed in the last 15 years, apart from the annual Livrei Swaps. Although it may not offer the latest technology, it does offer an exceptional chassis and a proven inline-4 that deserves more power than most of us will ever be able to use.

Unfortunately, this is another bike that will not be much longer with us. For a while this served as the only naked standard made by an American manufacturer. It has always looked the role, and the powerful V-twin is a gem, but compared to the other equally powerful naked bikes on the market, it has always felt a bit too expensive. For the right buyer, after something else, this is a great option.

The new Hypermotard 698 has certainly stolen the old Thunder from the 950s. Because it is so much lighter, it is certainly closer to a real supermoto. In the core, the 950 is still just a nice motorcycle to drive, and it doesn’t really have another defined goal, other than putting a big smile on your face. In a market that now requires so much motorcycles, this is a bit of a niche product and will only appeal to a very specific type of rider that is not interested in more versatile motorcycles.

Electric motorcycles are slowly starting to make more sense, with an improved driving range and similar performance. We feel that this marketing as a tourer, with only 100 miles of realistic reach, is a mistake. Range will almost certainly make a stressful goal of touring. A change in perspective can somewhat shift that attitude. If you would see it as a comfortable, well-equipped commuters, this is a great side the expensive option.

Three wheelers get a lot of stick in the motorcycle world, but they have a goal. Although this is an expensive trike, you will get what you pay for. We also believe that if a full-dress Tourer, a tricycle is actually the most logical. In terms of functions and comfort, any comparable priced Harley or Indian will match, and those bikes will only really be driven on the highway, where having an extra wheel is a reliable point.
