Hello friends! Happy Friday! What’s going on this weekend? We meet friends for dinner, go to a fun fall festival, and tour a high school for Liv (how?!). For now I’m just taking it easy with mine Lumebox and my PEMF mat. The weather has been a dream this week so I’m hoping we can sneak in a family walk. I’d love to hear what you’re working on!

It’s time for the weekly Friday Faves party. Here I share some of my favorite finds of the week and around the web. I always love hearing about your favorites too, so please shout out something you like in the comments below.

10.17 Friday Favorites

Fashion + beauty + random:

NYC Adventures! We had the best fall vacation to NYC. It was P’s first time and it definitely met her high expectations. She couldn’t believe how tall the buildings were and how many things there were to do. Both kids were blown away by the great shopping, beautiful scenery of Central Park and all the incredible dining options.

Some highlights:

To see Six with the family! Liv and I saw the touring production and LOVED it, and I thought it would be the perfect family Broadway show because we have already seen the Disney productions. It’s not terribly inappropriate – there are innuendos that fly right over the heads of younger children – and it’s short and sweet. No intermission and more of a concert-like atmosphere. This cast was insane – Heart of Stone I almost sobbed into my cup of white wine – and everyone loved it. P said she wants to see it again!

Pizza at Don Antonio. Pizzas like this always baffle me in the best way. It’s doughy, salty, flavorful and not greasy. How come 99% of gluten-free pizzas are terrible when treasures like this exist?! It IS possible to make the perfect gluten-free pizza… you just have to hop on a plane to get it.

(Always the margherita with anchovies)

Modern bread and bagel. I’ve been following them on Instagram forever and adding them to our must-eat list. P is also gluten-free, and we’re both often disappointed by gluten-free bagels and donuts. This place had both, and they were more amazing than I could ever explain. They tasted like the REAL deal! NYC is doing really well, friends.

(I liked it so much that I went back the next day to take bagels home in my suitcase. The good news is they ship!!)

Natural History Museum. Liv and I were here years ago and wanted to take P. with us. She was impressed with the exhibits and we all enjoyed wandering around. It’s easy to spend a few hours here and it was the perfect way to spend an afternoon.

Central Park. We walked around Central Park for a few hours and found a beautiful lawn where we could relax and the kids could run around freely. This was a point where I imagined my life in New York and what it would be like to hang out here in the middle of the workday or on a weekend. Life.

Sculpture Society with friends!! I reached out to my friend Heather, who I’ve known through the blogging world but haven’t seen in years, and was so excited to meet up for a Sculpt Society class at the UES. The studio was beautiful and we were able to take lessons from Matt, one of my favorite TSS instructors. (But I love them all!) It was so great to meet Heather and also to meet and hang out with Sana, a blog reader friend!

Sana reached out because she lives in New York, and I asked if she wanted to meet up for class. I like meeting blog reader friends in real life. Often you guys tell me that you feel like you know me from reading the blog, but it’s the same way – I feel like I know so many of you after all these years (especially my OG reader friends).

With Sana and Heather:

(she brought the sweetest gluten free goodie pack! The girls and I had the best dessert picnic on the flight home)

As for the class, I loved it. It went by super fast and it was killing my inner thighs. Matt was also a pleasure in person. I love his energy and teaching style and am so glad I had the opportunity to take a class with him.

We also shopped, ate so many delicious things, walked around everywhere and just enjoyed the city. NYC is such a magical place and I hope it doesn’t take six years to get back 😉

(just a little shout out for our loved one Amex Platinum! We used our $100 RESY dining credit, $200 back on the hotel stay, points toward our hotel, and free lounge access for this trip. If you decide to check it out, my referral link is here. My credit card travel tips are in this post.)

Olive Rose is heeeeere! I’ve been waiting for this day for months as I shook my head empty Skin tone bottle. It’s lightweight, buildable, and looks like skincare and makeup in one. I also ordered some lip butter and blush to try, along with an addition to my beloved shower gel.

Read, watch, listen:

You are reading this now and it is fascinating to see how tongue posture, swallowing, breathing, etc. affect facial shape and structure. (Besides the physical impact, good breathing mechanisms make a huge difference to sleep and the nervous system!)

Are you watching? Dancing with the stars? If so, who are you cheering for this season?

Don’t forget to check out this week’s podcast episode with medical intuitive Rachel Reimer here.

Fitness, health and good nutrition:

Canopy has a new air purifier! You guys know I’m obsessed with Canopy products, and this new air purifier is sleek and gorgeous, and you can pair it with the bedside humidifier. The perfect combination! Usage FITNESSISTA here for a 15% discount.

I can’t wait to make my favorite pumpkin chili recipe.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! Have a great weekend and I’ll see you soon!

xoxo
