Toronto-de Top-ranking Alexander Zverev gathered to beat No. 18 Alexei Pofyrin of Australia 6-7 (8), 6-4, 6-3 on Monday to reach the semi-final of the National Bank open.

Zverev, the Tournament Champion 2017, will be confronted with no. 11 Seed Karen Khahanov from Russia, who defeated no. 26 Alex Michelsen of the US 6-4, 7-6 (3).

Zverev, a German who is number 3, went on to his 75th ATP Tour semi -final. He is looking for his 25th tournament title and eighth in an ATP 1000 Masters Tournament.
