Mikel Arteta has said that new signing Martin Zubimendi will bring enormous quality and football information to the Arsenal team.
Arsenal announced on Sunday that Zubimendi signed of Real Sociedad in a deal with a value of almost £ 60 million.
Zubimendi is the second signing of the Gunners of the summer transfer window, after the arrival of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea for £ 5 million.
“Martin is a player who will bring a huge amount of quality and football information to our team,” said Arteta. “He fits very well and he has all the attributes to be an important player for us.
“The standard that he has consistently performed for both club and country in recent seasons is precisely why we are so enthusiastic to have him with us. We all welcome Martin and his family to the club.”
Speaking after completing his move to the Noord -Londen club, Zubimendi said: “This is a huge moment in my career. It is the move I was looking for and one that I wanted to make. As soon as you set foot here, you realize how big this club and this team are.
“I set my sights on Arsenal because their playing style suits me well. They have recently shown their potentially and the best yet to come.”

Zubimendi appeared 236 performances in all competitions at the first team level after graduating at the Academy of Sociedad.
In April 2021 he helped Sociedad win the delayed 2019/20 Copa del Rey against Intercity Rivals Athletic Club, alongside the current shooter Mikel Merino.
He was always present in 2022/23 when Real Sociedad insured their highest competition finish in recent history and ended the season in fourth place to secure Champions League football the third time, and the first in 10 years.
A Spanish international, Martin started all five games in the 2020 Olympic Games when they claimed silver in Tokyo.
He has made 19 senior performances for the Spanish senior national team and won the UEFA Nations League from 2023 and helped his country to beat England 2-1 to win Euro 2024, rising as a half-time replacement.
