The media day of the New Orleans Pelicans just took place and Zion Williamson is perhaps in the best form of his NBA career. When asked how he felt like the season and his improved physique, Z made a hair -raising remark Fans don’t want to miss.
“It feels good to feel good. I have not felt anymore since the university.”

Year in the year there is a cycle with Williamson where he enters the training camp and looks into an incredible form and by the time the middle season comes, he is injured or not in the form of play. However, something about this time feels different, not only from the point of view of physical appearance, but also in the way people throughout the organization have spoken about Williamson.
Trey Murphy III said that Williamson looks slimmer than he ever saw, and head coach Willie Green said he did a great job to get ready for this season.
For a team whose success depends on the health of Williamson, his improved fitness suggests and the comments about him that this season could be the best of New Orleans in years.
During his time at Duke University, Z was an athletic freak that was the perfect combination of both spring-out-of-the-gym athletics and brutal strength. With Williamson that he has not been in this good shape since the university, he could be ready to return the clock and remind fans why he was ever the most hype outlook in basketball.
How far can a healthy Williamson bring this team?
If they look at the grid construction of the Pelicans, they seem to be deeper and good than in the past seasons. They also seem to be healthier than they have been on their way to this season in recent years, with Herb Jones, Murphy III and Williamson all in the form of the game.
So the question arises: if Williamson appears in more than 65 games for the second time in his career, could the pelicans be a real playoff team in the west? And the simple answer is yes.
Each team with two NBA champions, a top five defender in the competition, a future All-Star, a former all-star and great banking depth can be a play-off team when their superstar plays. A healthy Zion Williamson gives you at least 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists per night. Combine that with the current schedule of New Orleans, and I believe you are watching a competition.
So if what we saw from Williamson and heard about him from his colleagues during the Mediadag is true, then the Pelicans in New Orleans are about to be the biggest surprise of the NBA.
