Zins return to Steelheads | Pro hockey news

Boise, Idaho-de Idaho Steelheads, Echl branch of the Dallas Stars, announced that the club defender Trevor Zins has again signed for a contract for the 2025-26 season.

Zins start his third professional season, third with Idaho after he has been named the Steelheads Defenseman of the Year last season. He was one of the two skaters in the club who appeared in all 72 games where he cut 15 points (1G-14a) with a +10 assessment. The Saint Michael, Minnesota resident ended with a +6 rating on 3 February in a 7-0 win in Utah who was bound by every skater in the Echl in the Echl in the Echl last season.

The 27-year-old skated in 106 career matches like a steelhead with 24 points (4G-20A) with a +23 rating. Zins started the 2023-24 season with the Indy Fuel, which collected two points (1G-1A) in 24 games before he was taken over by Idaho on January 11 for future considerations.

Prior to professional hockey, he played his first two seasons of collegial hockey at St. Cloud State University of 2019-21, but did not appear in a game campaign before switching to the University of St. Thomas. In two seasons with the Tommies, he skated in 69 career games with 19 points (4G-15a). He made his pro-debut with the Indy Fuel at the end of the 2022-23 campaign, where he appeared with an assist in six games.
