YouTube’s A number of new search filters added To help channel managers with the engagement opportunities, while it also rolls out its automated highlights for live streams, which give you more ways to use your content.
Firstly, YouTube wants to make it easier to manage your channel involvement by enabling makers to filter video reactions based on the latest answers, with “new answers to your answer”, and the option to sort comments by “newest”, so that you can stay informed of the latest discussions inspired by your clips.
So now you can ensure that you continue with continuous discussions after you have answered, while you can also see the latest comments about all your clips.
This will help maximize involvement and community interaction, and although they seem relatively small updates for most channels, these can be important elements within their broader strategic approach for people with many reactions.
You can use the new answer filter options In combination with other answer filters to further refine your search, while you can now also save them as standard filters on the mobile version of YouTube Studio.
As explained by YouTube:
“So far, makers could save standard filters on Studio Desktop, but this did not exist on Studio Mobile. We are happy to share that we are launching this, so that you can choose your favorite standard display of reactions in Studio.”

So more ways to manage channel answers, with improved filtering and settings to emphasize opportunities.
YouTube also rolls out its new automated shorts creation process for live streams, which will select segments from your live broadcasts for potential Shorts-Clips.

As you can see in this example, YouTube will now automatically extract a selection of highlights after completing your live stream, which you can then publish as shorts, if you want, to promote your streams.
“This feature will be available in the mobile app and you can watch an example of the short video in the summary screen when you end the stream. We hope that this will improve productivity when sharing stream height points through short content.”
YouTube announced this for the first time at the “Made On” event earlier in the month, and the now test it in the live environment.
Can be another way to maximize the efforts of your content creation.
Finally, YouTube also improves contextual search for connected TV viewers, which will mean more refined discovery in the YouTube TV app.
“Until now, if a search was initiated on a channel page when watching YouTube on TV, the results from over YouTube would be sent back to the viewer. Now we bring contextual search to large screens so that relevant results of the channel are first returned. This brings parity to the functionality that currently exists on desktop.”
Connected TV is a key, growing opportunity for YouTube and the more it is able to integrate its regular app functionality into the larger screen display, the more it can adjust the experience.
Some relatively small but useful Updates from YouTube this week, which can help with your planning process.
