You knew it was coming: the cheapest SUV with 3 rows has just become more expensive

For years, the Nissan Armada is the choice for buyers who wanted a large SUV with three rows without protecting money at a luxury level. It was even the only full-size SUV that you could grab for less than $ 60,000. Well, not anymore. Thanks to rates, import costs and a sneaky destination costs increase, the Armada 2026 has officially crossed the $ 60k barrier.

That is not great news for budget-conscious family or someone who looks at a large SUV who has not completely destroyed their finances. But the photo is not all bad. Nissan has shaken his Trim-Line-Up, introduced a street-closed Armada Nismo and still manages to undermine rivals such as the Toyota Sequoia, Jeep Wagoneer and Chevrolet Tahoe.

So yes, the prices have risen. But the Armada is still the value in a segment where “cheap” is relative and almost meaningless in 2025.

Let’s start with the elephant in the room: Nissan’s Armada is built in Japan. Between the small rates of Trump and shipping costs in 2025 and then, it is a joke to keep it under the threshold of $ 60,000. Before the rates started, economists, CEOs and car market experts all gave a uniform warning that wide, aggressive rates would not only increase the price of new cars, but also parts and maintenance. There was no doubt about it. It is a proven historical fact. Yet the Trump believers remained steadily in the unfounded series of beliefs that led them to support the rates.

Apart from model -wide price increases, one of the larger changes in the destination costs, which climbs from $ 295 to $ 2,190. That may not sound the case, but it is the largest driver behind the increase in the Armada on most ornamental lists on most decorations.

This is how that looks in real dollars:

  • The Base Armada SV RWD now starts at $ 61,030, an increase of $ 1,615.

  • The SV 4WD climbs even more and rises $ 2,615 to $ 64,030.

From there, the SL, Platinum and Platinum Reserve decorations rise only around $ 855 each, including destination. That is a relatively mild walk given the economic uncertainties that we are currently seeing.

The new 2026 Armada Nismo

Price increases aside, Nissan had a surprise in the sleeve: the completely new Armada Nismo. Yes, the same internal tuning division that Hypes Up ZS and GT-RS has now drawn his attention to the family transporter.

If you shop for a full-size SUV, the mix of the Armada of price, strength and new decorations make it difficult to ignore-even if it is not the bargain it used to be.

The Nismo starts at $ 81,720 and brings 460 hp (35 more than standard), handling upgrades and aggressive styling. It is not cheap, but compared to performance SUVs such as the Cadillac Escalade-V or Mercedes-AMG GLS63-LACE HIV past Six Figuren-It is actually a kind of bargain.

Even with the price button, the full-sizer of Nissan still plays the value card, as crazy as it feels money in 2025. The closest competitor, the 2026 Toyota Sequoia, starts at $ 66,120 – more than $ 5,000 above the Armada SV. Trim-for-trim, Toyota is more expensive across the board, from the TRD Pro to the keystone.

The Jeep Wagoneer is poet in price, with its access model only $ 1,010 more than the Armada SV. But even at the top, the Armada Platinum reserve $ 490 is cheaper than the fully charged equivalent of Jeep. And let’s not forget it, Nissan still undermines the big dogs of GM, such as the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon.

The bad news: Nissan can no longer claim that it has the only SUV of $ 60k three rows. The Good News (SAD News): The 2026 Armada still provides a strong value compared to its rivals, while adding a new spicy upholstery with the Nismo and continues to undermine Toyota, Jeep and GM.
