Yasir al-Rahalyyan in Deadline day U-turn while Liverpool receives Alexander Isak proposal

In the past month there has been a consistent message from Newcastle United (and the media) around the sale of Alexander Isak.

This message has been that Newcastle must receive something that must be almost £ 150 million and sign two strikers to punish the move of the mocking Swede to Liverpool. It has repeatedly been constant that this is the posture of PIF.

One striker is inside, with Nick Woltemade signed in a £ 69 million movement of Stuttgart on Saturday, but a second feels absolutely essential in a more than 50-plus game season, while we are still waiting for that much-needed callum Wilson replacement.

The hope of Newcastle to sign that the necessary striker is in the balance, but the sounds suggest on Sunday evening that our attitude mitigates on the sale of Isak and the conditions that we will demand to allow him to join Liverpool.

The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards claims that PIF and club chairman Yasir Al-Rahalyyan first told Liverpool that there is a deal to be done on Deadline Day as £ 130 million.

David Ornstein van Athletics Also reports that discussions about the potential switch from Isak to Merseyside, although it is currently thought that Liverpool can offer £ 120 million, which would have £ 10 million less than the compromise of £ 130 million by PIF.

Earlier this year, Craig Hope reported that Al-Rahayyan had instructed the club to resist all ISAK offers, but the situation has become sour and it is unclear whether there is a route back for the 25-year-old after he told Jamie Reuben and a PIF delegation on Monday that he will not be back.

From my perspective, his exit will not hurt if a record sale is followed by another striker signed in St James’ Park. But it will be a huge blow at the end of a turbulent window and precious mistake if we allow him to go without signing a replacement.
