Since Carlos Rodón came to the Yankees, Andy Pettitte has led his fellow left-hand person by a sometimes rocky first three seasons.

In Game 3, the Yankees Rodón could use that Pettitte’s NASASISUCES CHANNEL when he throws their season, with 2-0 to Toronto in the Best-of-Five ALDS who comes to Yankee Stadium on Tuesday evening.

“It all starts with Carlos on the hill,” said Pettitte Monday prior to a light Yankee training in the Bronx. “We know that this kind of competitions are all about pitching. Yes, we all know that we have to score runs, but it starts with Carlos.”

Rodón was in a similar place in the Wildcardronde against Boston after the Yankees dropped the first match of that series.

And although he was not at his best, Rodón put the Yankees in position to come from that must-win game with a victory before they improved in three games.

They are now even more for a challenge and need three straight victories to get through the Blue Jays and the ALCs.

“I think he’s ready,” Pettitte said. “He recently had one and was great, so he has been there and did it. In these games you try to simplify as much as possible, to control your emotions and make large pitches. No different than any other game, but you know what’s at stake.”

Rodón has not been consistent in the play -offs as a Yankee, with an ERA of 5.32 more than 23 ²/₃ innings in five play -off starts.

The Yankees have won three of those competitions.

But after the Yankees Back-to-Back Nightmare Starts had received from Luis Gil in Game 1 and Max Fried in Game 2 in Rogers Center, they need considerably more from Rodón, who arrives on Tuesday and has thrown at least five innings and allowed three or fewer runs in 11 straight starting foreston.

That is why Aaron Boone said that he had “a ton” confidence in Rodón on his way to Tuesday.

“He was clearly one of our horses this year,” said Boone. “He had a great year and every time we give him the ball, we feel that we have an excellent chance to win. That will be the same [Tuesday]. ”

Rodón was ok in a few starts against the Blue Jays this season to a 3.60 ERA in 10 innings with both starts in Toronto but Vlad Guerrero Jr., who killed the Yankees in the first two games of this series, is a threat to Rodón, 10-out-17 with three double-sided.

Yet his teammates know that he will not go back from the challenge.

“Every time he is on the hill, full confidence in him,” said Cody Bellinger. “I just love who he belongs to a competitor.”
