The draw against West Ham United on Tuesday showed INEOS how much Manchester United need an explosive left winger this summer.
While Amad patrolled the right wing, there was no one doing the same on the left, with Luke Shaw doing his best to deliver dangerous crosses.
With Alejandro Garnacho joining Chelsea and Marcus Rashford set to sign permanently for Barcelona this summer, the Red Devils are crying out for quality on the left flank.
There were reports that INEOS were pursuing Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye due to his impressive form and Premier League experience.
United are on the hunt for a left winger
However, the Toffees plan to reject all approaches from the Senegalese, and as a result the 20-time English league champions must broaden their search.
The People’s Person has already passed on United’s interest in RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, with Christopher Vivell pushing the club to complete the deal.
The 19-year-old was on fire in his debut season in the Bundesliga, scoring eight goals and registering six assists in 18 starts in all competitions.
Naturally, many clubs have joined United in the race, including fierce rivals Manchester City and Liverpool.
Price tag from Yan Diomande
Leipzig wants to be “young jewel’ on the cheap side, and have slapped a €100 million price tag on his head to ward off potential suitors.
But according to journalist Christian FalkThat has done little to dampen United’s interest and in fact they are willing to pay the required fee to bring Ivory Coast in internationally.
“Yan Diomande will cost a lot of money to sign this summer. The hundred million euros [£87.1m] The asking price was set by Oliver Mintzlaff, chief of RB Leipzig.
“Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool are all interested and can pay him. Bayern cannot afford Diomande at the moment because Luis Diaz is the established first choice on the left wing.”
United were open to Yan Diomande’s signature in January itself, but opted to wait and see. Whether United spend €100m this summer or move on to a new target will be interesting to see.
