Xpeng has announced that the global version of its 2026 P7+ update, which will soon go on sale in China, will be sold in 36 countries. Not to be confused with the new second-generation P7, the P7+ (which was born in November 2024) is a larger and cheaper version of the P7i – itself a redesigned first-generation P7.

Confused? No matter – let’s take a look at this latest update, which, Xpeng says, includes more than 104 upgrades. There are EV and range-extended (REEV) versions – according to Car news ChinaThe first is an 800V machine with 5C charging (that’s 12 minutes full), 245 or 313 hp, 61.7 or 74.9 kWh LFP batteries and a CLTC range of up to 725 km.

Meanwhile, the REEV combines a 150PS 1.5 turbo engine with a 245PS electric motor and a 49.2kWh battery, giving a top speed of 200km/h, a CLTC range of 430km on electric vehicles alone (Xpeng says no other REEV sedan offers greater pure electric range) and a colossal combined CLTC range of 1,550km.

Length, width, height and wheelbase are 5,071 (+15 mm compared to before), 1,937, 1,512 and 3,000 mm respectively. How do you say it differently than before? Firstly, the LED strip on the front is now one piece instead of three. Secondly, there are new Y-shaped alloys, although they are still 20-inchers.

Third, the front bumper has been slightly redesigned with an active air intake and a chrome splitter. Finally, the rear end is sharper, including a new tailgate, and the taillights now completely surround the XPENG script in a trapezoid shape. Also no more glossy black in the lower bumper.

Inside, the side air vents are now hidden, the glovebox now opens electrically and a new 29-inch augmented reality head-up display allows the instrument cluster to be reduced in size (now 8.8 inches versus 10.25 inches previously).

Transferred are the steering wheel, the center console, the 15.6-inch touchscreen and the twenty speakers, though CNC says the new car also features a zero-gravity passenger seat, soft-closing doors, active noise cancellation and microfiber headliner.

It’s an Xpeng, so we can’t run away from advanced technology. The top variant gets three Turing AI chips that together provide 2,250 TOPS of computing power, making navigation on autopilot (both in the city and on the highway) possible.

Will Malaysia be one of the 36 countries to get this? We know that the G6 SUV, X9 MPV and Is there any chance that D02 or D03 could be this? There’s nothing wrong with hoping!
