A trio of English players will be looking for points on the world rankings as the WTT Feeder Doha reaches the main draw on Thursday.
Tin-Tin Ho, Tianer Yu and Connor Green have all qualified for the main draw and, although the qualifying rounds are still underway, they already know their opponents.
Green (WR 258) will relish the chance to face world number 61 Ryoichi Yoshiyama of Japan in the Men’s Singles Round of 32 and will be confident he can cause an upset after beating Chinese Taipei’s world number 55 Feng Yi-Hsin at the WTT Star Contender London in October.
In the Women’s Singles Round of 32, Ho (WR 223) will face wildcard Suhana Saini of India (WR 456), while Yu (WR 225), fresh from beating two top-20 juniors in the same city at the WTT Youth Star Contender, will face Singapore’s Tan Zhao Yun (WR 151).
The two English women will compete in the doubles together and Tan Zhao Yun will once again be the opponent in the Round of 16, alongside Lai Chloe.
In the Mixed Doubles, Green & Ho are third seeds and will face Qatar’s Mohammad Abdulwahhab and Aia Mohamed in the last 15.
