WPL 2026: Virat Kohli’s heartfelt message ahead of the final as RCB Women secure second title

Indian veteran Virat Kohli sent a heartfelt message to Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women ahead of the 2026 Women’s Premier League (WPL) final against Delhi Capitals Women on Thursday, February 5. The post was shared by RCB’s official social media account on Friday. RCB Women went on to win their second WPL title, beating Delhi Capitals Women by six wickets in the final.

The Smriti Mandhana-led side put in a dominant performance in their title-winning campaign as Delhi Capitals once again fell short on the biggest stage despite making their fourth appearance in a WPL final. The summit clash was held at the BCA Stadium in Kotambi, Vadodara.

Mandhana led from the front with a brilliant 87 off just 41 balls, while Georgia Voll played a crucial supporting role with a composed 79 off 54 deliveries. The duo formed an impressive 165-run partnership for the second wicket, which proved decisive in setting up RCB’s momentous triumph and sealing another heartbreak for Delhi Capitals in a WPL final.

“I hope you are all doing very well. Many congratulations on reaching the WPL final again. I have watched you play this season and it was great to see some high-pressure matches that he won,” Kohli said on X.

“This season has really set the tone for us. And it’s no surprise to me that we were the first to make it to the final. Top of the table. We’re just continuing the momentum we had from game one. A few games in the middle, where it’s also good to reflect a little bit and think about the things the team can work on moving forward. And that’s what you guys have been doing over the last few games as well,” he added.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women won six matches in the group stage and secured a direct spot in the final by finishing at the top of the points table. Smriti Mandhana claimed the Orange Cap as the leading run-scorer of WPL 2026, amassing 377 runs in nine innings at an impressive average of 53.85. Nadine de Klerk emerged as RCB Women’s leading wicket-taker during the campaign, taking 16 wickets in nine innings at an excellent average of 15.68.
