India’s star Wicketkeeper-Batter, RISHABH Pantreturned to India after he broke his right foot during the fourth test of the Anderson-Detulkar trophy against England in Manchester on July 23.
After weeks of consultation in England and Mumbai, Pant is now ready to start rehabilitation in the Center of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru. His recovery will check whether he will return quickly for the busy schedule of India, with the home series against West -India in October as his first possible comeback.
The pant injury took place in Old Trafford when a delivery from Chris Woakes touched him closely. The cricket player hit 37 at that time and had to hurt with retirement. However, he returned the next day with heavy tying to score a 54. In the meantime, the damage ruled him out of the fifth test in the oval, which continued to win India and deliver the series. After the game, Pant stayed back in England before he flew to Mumbai to meet medical experts, who now led him to a rehabilitation program in Bengaluru.
RISHABH Pant’s foot still tied up
According to a cricbuzz report, the foot of the young person is still tied up, and although the assessments are underway, doctors have given him a provisional timeline for recovery. His first target is to be fit for the Red-Ball series against West Indies at home in October. If that proves too early, the White-Ball series against Australia could see its return in October-November.
Pant has kept fans informed about his journey through social media and recently shares a motivating post about his mental strength. In 2022, the Southpaw had an almost fatal car accident that had left him offside for more than a year. He had to undergo extensive knee operation and rehabilitation before he made comeback to international cricket in 2024. Apart from his accident, he also endured finger wounds and repeated fitness issues.
