Everton’s EFL Cup trip is over in the third round after a 2-0 loss for Wolverhampton Wanderers in Molineux Stadium.
David Moyes brought a wholesaler to the line -up who started against Liverpool in Anfield and some selections didn’t make much sense. Seamus Coleman was deployed on the left flank, while the entire front line that started in Anfield was equipped tonight.
The blues looked out of the color and struggled to make a half-quality chances in the first half and hit a Marshall Munetsi target on the half-hour.
Moyes felt the emergency situation and decided to break the glass and Beto, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye to put on shortly after the break, but the hosts were happy to drop and defend them, making small openings possible.
James Garner came closest to repairing parity after touching the woodwork of a free kick and Sam Johnstone with a powerful shot from outside the box.
Tolu Arokodare delivered the fatal blow to Everton’s Carabao Cup after chipping the ball over Mark Travers’ head just three minutes before the end.
Although there was some merit to make changes to the starting XI for this game, Moyes probably made one too much, and he was also not helped by his players. Although they get a rare chance to put on their claim in the starting line -up, none of them made a big impression tonight and showed little desire to impose themselves on the game.
Here are the players’ reviews of the game:
Mark Travers: 5
Jordan Pickford replaced between the sticks tonight and his salvation by Jhon Arias’s volley was parried in the path of Marshall Munetsi, who finished it up close. Was also imprisoned in no man’s land with the second goal, not knowing where he had to run out of his box or stay in the goal. He finally left with Arokodare in a 1V1 situation and saw the ball be broken down over his head.
Jake O’Brien: 6
Jake O’Brien had a greater permit to roam ahead compared to recent competitions and threatened his crosses in the first half. However, he had a quiet second 45.
James Tarkowski: 5
Tarkowski was partly wrong for the second goal and allowed Arokodare to run behind Keane. With his teammates who push high on the field, Tarkowski should have tried to play a high line instead of offering so much space behind.
Michael Keane: 6
I could probably have done better to close Munetsi after the rescue of Travers, but otherwise he would have a strong competition. He was also a threat in the opposition box and had a big attempt saved by Johnstone on the other side.
Seamus Coleman (replaced by Vitalii Mykolenko on 78 ‘): 5
It was a bizarre call to play Seamus Coleman as left-back instead of Garner or Aznou, given Moyes who wanted to let Mykolenko rest. Coleman’s only appearance so far this season was in the previous Cup match against Mansfield Town and the veteran looked rust and from the pace against Wolves.
Ioemegbunam -Team: 5
Ioembunam was bad on the ball and unable to find his teammates in dangerous areas.
James Garner: 7
One of Everton’s smartest players this season had a strong performance tonight. Garner was the most likely score of the team against Wolves. He rattled the goal with a great free kick and also brought a strong salvation from Johnstone with a powerful shot from outside the box.
Tyler Dibbling by Iliman Nddah and 59: 5th
At his first start for the blues, the highly long -standing teenager showed a glimpse of talent, but had a quiet night in Molineux. It was probably the size of the occasion, but Dibling did not really leave the ball in that first half and was happy to let the game pass for large phases.
Charly Alcaraz (replaced by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall during the break): 6
Alcaraz probably looked the most lively out of the four players who led Everton’s attack in the first half. He had a few decent moments, but the last pass or the murderer was missing to create a meaningful danger. Was probably a pity to be one of the first to be deducted.
Dwight McNeil (replaced by Jack Grealish on 59 ‘): 3
McNeil has long been a difficult watch. Started on the left and Coleman, 10 years old, his senior, looked 10 times more lively than he. Only two minutes before the break, McNeil had a glorious opportunity to play Alcaraz on a fast counter, but instead his wide pass killed the movement. Also look guilty of a lot of ball.
Thierno Barry (replaced by Beto during the break): 4
Barry had the glorious chance to impress his manager after a non-show from Beto in Anfield, but it was not possible to take advantage of it. His body language tonight was shocking and the 22-year-old saw himself stepping into the referee’s book to kick a ball for the linesman. He has to do better.
Replacements
Beto: 5
Had a better game than Barry and his holdup game was cleaner, but nothing else to write home about. Beto didn’t see many opportunities tonight.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall: 5
Dewsbury-Hall underwent a frustrating return to the ground where he opened his Everton account with a fantastic goal in the 3-2 victory last month. Can’t repeat his heroic deeds from that game.
Idiman Ndima: 5
While his silky feet and curves made a flank life member and Ndiaye wandered in dangerous positions in the last third, the Senegalese calmness missed in his latest actions. It was clear in the shot that he skied from a chance on the back post after a quirky touch.
Jack Grealisk: 6
Grealisk became three times three minutes after the rise to the game, which summarized his night. He was constantly surrounded by Wolves players who were often physical in their attempts to stop him.
Vitalii Mykolenko: 6
Did not have much time to impose itself on the game and was defeated for the second goal of Wolves. Ideal should have started the game if there were no persistent fitness issues.

Wednesday-Underdag-Vrijdag-Saturday-Sunday day. Five days of complete rest until we have to play again and then another five days of complete rest, until they play afterwards.
Ridiculous decision to change so many players for a team that reportedly has ambitions to win a trophy.
For a manager who has been at the end of so many avoidable cups – the defeat – let’s do time again.

I hope we will not go to this cup next year, we will never win.
Could just as well lose our place to someone in the non -competition and give him a chance.
Everton has now given up the cups for 30 years, we have had a cup final in 30 years, how shameful is that I ask you.
A club that is once present in the top flight and the loyal fans had a cup -left appearance in 30 years.

The players reviews show that the players knew that the tactics of the managers would not win that game. Moyes just showed up and went home.
What a prat he is to separate that to pay fans on his wages. His reactions to the post match will be pure nonsense.

The same old the same old ones. Squad not big enough, but this one is up to Moyes. West Ham is an important game. But if we don’t win, I would move Moyes upstairs and give the management role to Nuno EspĂrito Santo. We need a younger manager with a different approach and tactics.

Travers 5? Ridiculous. He was Amateuruur. Can’t parry well on the first goal and the second absolutely complicated. Stranded itself like a salmon on a beach. Because we have not spent Tyrer for some reason, bring in as #2 and grab a new keeper in January.

Garner was a man of the game, he was pretty pretty.
The rest was Abject that that game started.
In January we have to look for Takers for IrieGbunam, McNeil and if there are a striker options available, I would look at Beto or Barry, sometimes you just have to reduce your losses, Moyes did just as much with per Kroldrup.
We have no pace on the flanks and I have included fullbacks in it.
Criminal that we have not succeeded in treating that area.
