Shubman Gill and the Indian Cricket team left on Friday from Mumbai Airport, on their way to England for an exciting five-test competition series as part of the ICC World Test Championship Cycle from 2025-27. This series will unfold from June to August 2025, with competitions prepared at iconic locations such as Headingley in Leeds, Edgbaston in Birmingham, Lord’s and the Oval in London, and Old Trafford in Manchester.
After the retirement of Rohit Sharma, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Shubman Gill mentioned the new test captain, in which Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant entered as his deputy. On June 6, while traveling with the team, Pant had a funny exchange with a fan who asked about Rohit Sharma’s residence. His witty reaction soon became viral.

It has been a long time since India last achieved a TOO in England – back in 2007, to be precise. To take on the challenge, various Indian players have already found their way to participate in warm-up games with India A against the English lions. The rest of the team will arrive in the UK on Friday.
In the meantime, India A is currently working on an unofficial way of three games against the English Lions. The first match ended in a draw and the second unofficial test is currently underway on the provincial land in Northhampton.
