The Mid-August matchup of the Kansas City Current at home against the Orlando proud was the blockbuster-stupid point of the back of the National Women’s Soccer League season. It was the last meeting in a fast -growing rivalry that promised a lot of entertainment, given the superstar names in every team. The game unfortunately turned into a Cagey 0-0-drawing game, probably partly partly because of the triple number heat index that eventually delayed for more than three hours.
The game was not without moments, nothing more than the seasonal injury to Barbra Banda who overshadowed the Orlando Pride procedure. Banda left the game early in the first half, that momentum waved away from Orlando. Banda was able to walk through the tunnel and later appeared on the couch smiling next to defender Rafaelle, but now that we know that her race is being run, questions must be asked about the attacking output of Pride in general without their star striker. All in all, how did they do it against KC Current and what does the transfer of Lizbeth Oalle Give them in the absence of Banda?
