Sebastian Korda and Marton Fucsovics will be in their career for the third time and open for the second time in the Winston-Salem when they fight for a place in the final on Friday afternoon. Both previous meetings came during the Hardcourt Summer in 2023, when Korda prevailed with 7-6 (5), 6-3 in Winston-Salem before Fucsovics received revenge in a five-set thriller less than a week later in the round one of the American open.

This is a much needed result for Korda, which had not played since the French opening because of a stress fracture in his tibia. The 86th ranking, the 86th ranking this week improved with victories over Vit Kopriva, Kamil Majchrzak and Miomir Kecmanovic-Dropping only one set on Majchrzak.

Fucsovics also only lost one set on the way to the Semis and defeated Hugo Gaston, Tallon Griekspoor, Roberto Bautista Agut and Jaume Munar. The 33-year-old Hungarian is a victory away from his very first outdoor final on the ATP tour. His four earlier finals came on Clay (two titles) and inner hard courts (two number two).

That drought can continue. Korda looks healthy and confident, he plays at home in the United States and he already knows that he can beat Fucsovics on this specific tournament.

Pick: Korda in 3
