Winnipeg Jets: Pre-Season Preview

Winnipeg Jets: Pre-Season Preview

Well, at that time of the year where summer starts with the preparations to leave the Canadian province of Manitoba, we are set up for the arrival of another winter period at a certain moment in the coming months. Fortunately, together with the incoming colder temperatures, the return of Hockey will help us deal with the forced indoor imprisonment that is accompanied by the season in our northern climate.

This will be the last regular season of the National Hockey League that starts at the beginning of October, because the 2026-27 campaign is expected to start from now on from now on. However, when it comes to this NHL season, we have to wait until October 9 before our Winnipeg jets touch the ice for their seasonal debut. Yet before that date rolls on the calendar, there will be plenty of other action to check … Prospects confrontation Only six days away and the start of the promotion for the season that takes place on September 21 (14 days).

Recently the True North organization De Jonge Prospects released that will participate in the activities in Quebec next weekend and they include 14 players on which the jets have drawn up or have the hockey rights. Here is the entire list:

Prospects Showdown Roster: ((WPG signed/prepared players in bold))

Ahead: Brayden YagerHeyColby BarlowDanny ZhilkinFabian WagnerJacob JulienOwen MartinKieron WaltonJacob CloutierNikita ChibikovReggie Newman, & Chase Yoder.

DEFENSE: Elias SalomonssonEdison EngleGraham Sward, Ben Zloty, Kaleb Hartmann, Seth Fryer, Reese Hamilton & Conor Walton.

Goals: Domenic divorces & Alex Worthington

The prospecting depth of Winnipeg on the defensive position is not so bad if the line -up above it looks … as the club couldn’t record Garrett Brown who are not eligible to participate because of NCAA rules and those of Swede Sascha Boumedienne & Alfons Freij All their seasons started in Europe. That lack of depth was successful for the Walton at least brothers who give the jets’ set up Kieron The chance to play a few games with his twin brother Conor. Because the two take place for different OHL clubs (Sudbury Wolves & Windsor Spitfires respectively), It might be nice to be teammates instead of rivals for a change. The 8 non -signed guests of Winnipeg are a few veteran Manitoba Moose players (Sward/Zloty), plus a new addition to the affiliate of the Minor League (Yoder). The remaining 5 are all WHL players of different ages:

  • Reggie Newman – RW – 20 years – 6’2 ″ 200 LBS – Victoria Royals
  • Seth Fryer – RD – 19 years – 6’7 ″ 209 LBS – Victoria Royals
  • Conor Walton – LD – 19 years – 6’5 ″ 205 LBS – Windsor Spitfires
  • Kaleb Hartmann – LD – 18 years – 6’1 ″ 181 LBS – Seattle Thunderbirds
  • Reese Hamilton – LD – 18 years – 6’1 ″ 170 LBS – Regina Pats

I haven’t heard why yet Brad Lambert does not participate, but maybe he has done the prospect tournament enough times since he was prepared in 2022 (Although Chibby was prepared and present a year earlier). I think only two competitions have planned, it doesn’t need to bring a 3rd keeper, that is Thomas Milic. It will be the first chance that we will see three of the newly established players Owen MartinJacob Cloutier& Edison Engle In a Jersey by Winnipeg Jets, and the debut of newly signed AHL target defender Alex Worthington.

I am not sure how well our young prospects will stack against the systems of the senators of Montreal Canadiens & Ottawa, because both franchises have spent many of the past 5 years on the much higher in the design than the jets. Anyway, I’m looking forward to seeing them all playing next weekend (believe that the games will be central on Saturday and Sunday at 6 pm).

If you like video games, you may have heard that EA’s NHL 26 released their players’ reviews for the upcoming game and it showed a lot of respect for some players from Winnipeg. Recently the makers revealed that Connor Hellebuyck This season, the highest ranked goalkeeper will be in the NHL, which is on an elevated 94 rating. Three other skaters from Jets also touch the 90 general plateau, with ahead Kyle Connor on 92 (Bound for the 6th highest wing player), his pivot Mark Crèmes On 91 (Bound for the 10th best center), And Josh Morrissey Landed on a rating of 90 (Bound for the 8th best defender).

Other real northern players reviews were as follows:

87: Neal Pionk

86: Gabriel Vilardi

84: Adam LowryCole perfectNino NiederreiterDylan DemeloDylan Samberg& Hatch Schenn

83: Gustav Nyquist & Vladislav representative

82: Alex Iafallo

81: Tanner PearsonColin Miller& Eric Comrie

80: Morgan Barron

79: David GustafssonHaydn Fleury& Logan Stanley

77: Jarton-DalanMason Shaw& Ville Heinola

Although I could probably choose about some reviews such as Samberg that does not get enough respect, but the biggest puzzle might be how Schenn is arranged so high? I know some of you think, what about the reviews of the young prospects? Well, they didn’t release it, so we will just have to guess what players of Brayden YagerElias SalomonssonNikita Chibikov& Brad Lambert can end.

The reviews of the players have led to a number of interesting general rankings for the NHL clubs on one website that has done the calculations. It seemed to indicate that the New York Rangers will have the highest assessment (93) with the Boston Bruins a step behind them (92). The Carolina Hurricanes, Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars and New York Islanders were on the next (91), with our jets and the Vancouver Canucks on 90. The Edmonton Oilers, Toronto Maple Leafs, & Vegas Golden Kings, Los Angeles are Los Angeles and Teams,,,,,,,,,,,,, and,,,,,,,, and,,,,,, and,,,,, and,,,,, and,,,,, and,,,, and,,,, and,,,,, and,,,, and,,,,, and like, Angeles, and Los Angeles, and Los Angeles,,,,,,,, and knights, Loses Angeles. The training camp of the Winnipeg Jets will officially start on September 20, but players are already dripping in the city to get an early start of things. The first informal skates have seen the local boy Jonathan Tools Attract the real northern colors for the first time in addition to some of his teammates Dylan DemeloTanner Pearson& Haydn Fleury. The moose also had a large contingent with players such as Nikita ChibikovDanny ZhilkinReece andTyson EmpeyEthan Frish& tender Isaac Poulter. And players have and will continue to drip to participate in those who get a leap on the season at the Ice Plex.

Here is the ESPN preseason for the Winnipeg Jets this year:

Well, that’s all I can think of to say about our hockey club at the moment. Time to finish this and to enjoy a busy Sunday of accumulating the cord of firewood that I had just delivered. I hope everyone had a good summer … But it’s time to burn the flames of your hockey fandom because the next season is almost on the door.

Unfortunately, just when I was about to download a new photo for this article … I discovered that the Arctic Ice Hockey account with Imagn.com is no longer active. I am not sure if that is a sign that Aih will not be much longer or not, but it is certainly not a great omen. Will try to find out more and keep you informed.
