Will Smith’s status for Dodgers Wild Card Series revealed

Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star Catcher Will Smith will be in the active schedule for the Wild Card series of the team against the Cincinnati Reds, Per Fabian Ardaya of athletics.

Smith, who has not played since 9 September, will probably just be a pinch hit option for the bank, per Ardaya.

Smith only plays once since 3 September because of a break in his hand. The Dodgers had to raise Ben Rortvedt who acquired the team in a three-team trade at the deadline-in an emergency situation to support Dalton. When rushing was also injured and had to go on the il, Rortvedt became the daily catcher – and he flourished.

Rortvedt not only has the pitching staff navigated in several near No-Hitters bat has been solid and was 11-out-49 (.224) with one home run, four runs hit and an OPS of .636.

Rortvedt will now be the number 9 Slagman in the Line -Up this series, in charge of navigating through the pitching to the wildcart round. As far as Smith is concerned, he will wait in the wings, so that Rortvedt can be replaced late in the game if his place in the line -up comes to a big moment.

Smith appeared this season in 110 games and cut .296/.404/.497 with 17 home runs, 61 RBIs and an OPS of .901.
