With Casemiro set to leave United at the end of the 2025/26 season following the expiry of his contract, the Red Devils’ recruitment department is already mapping out summer plans to fill the void in the combative midfield left by the Brazilian legend.
Manchester United have been linked with several midfield targets, with Fichajes previously reporting that the Premier League side were eyeing Camavinga as a long-term solution in the engine room. However, Romano’s assessment on his YouTube channel provided a grim reality check for United supporters and recruitment chiefs alike.
Romano stressed that while there have been rumors and speculation about Manchester United’s interest in Camavinga, Real Madrid currently have “no intention” of selling the midfielder, who is seen as a key part of the club’s midfield plans. Camavinga has played an important role at the Bernabeu and is under contract until 2029, giving Real Madrid strong leverage to retain his services.
Romano also emphasized that Madrid aims to strengthen its midfield and not dismiss talent. He hinted that unless their plans change dramatically between now and July, Camavinga is unlikely to be available in the transfer market this summer.
Romano said on his YouTube channel”I also saw someone saying that Camavinga would be the perfect replacement for Casemiro. Yes, but these are fantastic players and Real Madrid, I don’t think they have any intention of changing their plans in midfield.”
“They ultimately have to add the midfield player at Real Madrid and not let the player go. So at this stage this is the reality, well before the summer.”
“If something happens with Tchouameni, with Camavinga, and I think also with Real Madrid, substitutes in midfield, we will definitely let you know.”
What will Man United be looking for in the summer?
If Michael Carrick can make it Manchester United Back in the Champions League next season when they will be able to sign the biggest players again, so until that happens this is all speculation.
The Red Devils have some big decisions to make this summer as to whether or not they will give Carrick the permanent job or hire someone new, and before that happens, many players will be linked.
But we expect United to make some big impacts, that’s for sure.
