Every great champion has his own rituals, but Carlos Alcaraz may have the coolest. For the Spaniard, trophies don’t just go on the shelf, but under the skin. Wimbledon brought a strawberry, Roland Garros an Eiffel Tower and the US Open a bold design with the Statue of Liberty.
After triumphing at the Australian Open to complete the Career Grand Slam, which tattoo will now join the growing gallery?
“I definitely said it will be a kangaroo, a little kangaroo,” Alcaraz said after beating Novak Djokovic in the final on Sunday.
The only mystery left is the placement. The leg is stuck, but right or left? That is still up for debate, with the No. 1 player in the PIF ATP Rankings joking that he still has some time to decide.
“I don’t know where it will be,” Alcaraz said. “It will definitely be in the stage. I don’t know which right, which left. I have to choose a good place, but it will definitely be close to the French Open or Wimbledon. I just have to choose.”

Alcaraz has now captured seven majors and fifteen major titles – a combination of Grand Slam championships, trophies at the Nitto ATP Finals and ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, and Olympic gold medals in singles. Rival Sinner has 11. Alcaraz remains at No. 1 in the PIF ATP Live Rankings after his run, 3,350 points ahead of 2024 and 2025 Australian Open champion Sinner.
The Spaniard will soon leave Melbourne, but before he departed, the 22-year-old took part in a fun photoshoot at the Royal Exhibition Building on Monday, where he posed with the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup.
