Former MLS star Taylor Twellman continues to work between Golf and his job as a football analyst for Apple TV. Twellman plays golf once a week to make his competitive juices flow and get a release of the stress of work and life.
That has led Twellman to play some of the top courses in the United States, with Oakmont Country Club and Shinnecock Hills at the top of his list of favorite places where he set it up.
But Twellman has not had the opportunity to walk through the holy fairways of Augusta National, but it is not because he is not invited.
Twellman was the newest guest on Golf’s Subpar Podcast, and he told Co-Hosts Kolt Knost and Drew Stoltz why he had to reject an invitation to play at Augusta National.
How the viral tirade of a football broadcaster ruined the wave trip of your life
By means of:
Jessica Marksbury
“Do I publicly tell people that I had to reject some sort of an invitation for Augusta National?” Twellman asked Knost and Stoltz.
But he had a good reason.
‘I am actually the only one who played on the [American Century Celebrity Golf Championship] That must work for a living, “said Twellman.” So when I received an invitation to play Augusta, I had England vs. Italy do in the European Championships in Wembley. I had no choice to say: “You know what, I can’t do the final because someone invited me to play Augusta.” I promise that I will no longer get that invitation. “
Twellman is a better employee than most. It is impossible to say how many diehard golfers would have done all the possible to avoid their work responsibilities for the chance of playing Augusta National.
But don’t feel bad for Twellman. He has played various iconic courses and, despite his claim, will probably find his way to get an invitation for Augusta National.
