Carlos Mendoza has never seriously considered going to Edwin Díaz for a second inning on Saturday, despite his low pitch.
The Mets threw closer to only seven throws in a scoreless 10th, but he did not get a chance at the 11th.
Instead, Tyler Rogers came in and was tagged for a two-run, in the Park Daylen Lile Home Run in the 5-3 loss of the Mets for last place in Citi Field.
“He threw two nights ago, got hot yesterday,” said Mendoza. ‘We are alone [using him] For a collection today. “
Rogers had thrown well, so that only one earned was about his last 7 ²/₃ innings.
But after he withdrew Andrés Chaparro on a groundout to start the inning, Lile shot a 2-2 fastball of the wall in midfield.
Tyrone Taylor said that his wounded left hamstring feels 100 percent, making his return at a certain point early next week probably.
The midfielder plays on Sunday in a different Minor League match for Triple-A Syracuse and can be activated prior to Tuesday’s match against the Cubs in Chicago.
He played six innings in Center for Syracuse on Friday evening and hit 1-out-4 with an RBI.
An elite defender, Taylor, became hot when he hurt his hamstring, with an oblique line of .367/.441/.500 over 34 trips to the plate in August.
In the meantime, veterans have struggled Cedric Mullins and Jose Siri in his absence. Taylor was placed on the injured list on 2 September, with retroactive effect until August 30.
“I know, bad timing, man,” Taylor said. “But at the end of the day it is what it is. I can only concentrate on me and to where I was as quickly as possible. So that’s what I do.”
The Mets made something feel like their daily Bullpen movement, in which left-handed Richard Lovelady to the Major League-Roster was signed and Wander Suero designated for assignment.

Lovelady appeared earlier this season in six games with the Mets, which meant that six earned runs were in 6 ²/₃ innings.
Mendoza said that Lovelady was partially added to the schedule because of the crowd of the Nationals of left -handed batters and the heavy recent workload of Southpaw Relievers Brooks Raley and Gregory Soto.
Lovelady threw a scoreless inning of relief on Saturday.
According to Mendoza, decisions still have to be made for right -handed pitchers Tylor Megill and Reed Garrett.
Megill has a sprained UCL ligament and goes for a personal visit with a doctor in Los Angeles. Tommy John Surgery is possible.
Garrett has a tense ligament in his elbow and still collects opinions from different doctors about the best way of acting.
The Orioles claimed Dom Hamel exemptions from the Mets. He was designated on Thursday for assignment after making his main class debut. Baltimore has assigned the 26-year-old right-handed to Triple-a Norfolk.
