Alexander Isak was not mentioned in the Liverpool team for the trip to Burnley with Arne Slot and his staff with a cautious approach with their new striker.
This is Anfield Understands that Isak from the team has been omitted to face Burnley to continue his focus on training.
Although he came from the bank’s bank on Monday for the last 18 minutes of the 2-0 defeat of Sweden against Kosovo on Monday, he has not regularly trained or played regularly since the end of May as part of a team.
“We have decided that this is best for him to have a good training week instead of every time they play five or 10 minutes,” Slot said the official channels of Premier League for the kick -off.
“I can assure the fans that he will be involved on Wednesday – but this game came a bit too early.”
Slot continued when he spoke with Sky Sports and said: “As everyone knew, he did not have a team training with Newcastle and then went to the national team and only played 15 to 20 minutes.
“We think, with a week in which we play three games in seven days, this is the best run -up for him to be available against Atletico Madrid.”
Slot also suggested that Isak would be able to play for more than 45 minutes in the Champions League collision with Atletico on Wednesday evening.
“Normally you play your first 45 to 60 minutes after one or two weeks after one or two weeks and you gradually build it up,” he said.
“But you do that with the right training sessions during the week; now we hardly have the right training sessions with the team because we play three games in seven days.
“So where would he be? Second or third week of the preseason I would say. So hopefully to play during the week 45 minutes or more, but then two days later, as you know, we play Everton again.
“So it will be interesting for the performance staff for us to get the best out of him from the start, but also keep it available to the end.

“Because another player who was not nearly available for team training, that from Brentford, Wissa, he got two 90 -minute games and he is now four weeks or perhaps more with an injury.
“That tells you how difficult the balance is with a player who has missed team sessions for so long.”
It is therefore almost certain that ISAK will be involved against Atletico, with a lock capable of mentioning 12 substitutes in European competition.
But the attacking options of the bank’s lock at Turf Moor are Rio Ngumoha and Federico Chiesa-Die both have already scored match-winning goals this season as substitutes.
