Why 2026 could be a dream year for investors: and where Bitcoin fits in?

Why 2026 could be a dream year for investors: and where Bitcoin fits in?

The Fed ends the QT interval, Trump calls for a massive rate cut, and more.

In retrospect, 2025 was already an incredible year for (almost) all investment assets. Unless there is increased volatility in the few remaining days of 2025, the S&P 500 is poised to close up 18%, the Nasdaq Composite up 22%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 15%.

And then there are the precious metals. The two biggest – gold and silver – had their best year yet, with several new all-time highs. Gold has risen 75% this year, while silver has become the third largest global asset after rising 172% since January’s opening price as its market capitalization has soared to $4.5 trillion.

If there is one major disappointing asset class, it is cryptocurrencies. Although BTC and several altcoins marked new highs throughout the year, most are poised to end 2025 in the red. But now the popular analysts at the Kobeissi Letter believe that 2026 will be even better, and the question is: can crypto outperform?

Will 2026 be incredible?

Some of the reasons why the analysts believe investors should expect a huge 2026 include the AI boom, including the China-US war against it, massive deregulation in the sector, midterm elections in the United States, growing retail participation in certain markets, and Fed policy.

The US central bank has already cut key interest rates three times in a row by 2025 and ended its quantitative tightening policy. Rates are expected to be cut further next year, especially with a new Fed chairman on board. Trump has called for a 1% interest rate and has also promised stimulus checks from the rates.

Will Crypto Join In?

As mentioned above, Bitcoin and the altcoins have largely underperformed on a year-over-year basis. If all the above factors align, risky assets like the digital asset industry should flourish, at least in theory, especially if U.S. loans become even cheaper and other asset classes, like precious metals and stocks, reach a decisive peak.

Experts anticipate capital rotation into more lucrative industries, including crypto. AI would probably remain the most favorable niche, but BTC has become a lot more legitimate among institutional investors, especially since the Trump administration took office.

Either way, 2026 will indeed be quite eventful for all financial markets, but bitcoin and the altcoins still have a long way to catch up after the controversial 2025. Or perhaps they now have more room for growth.
