Who wins the 2025 Ballon d’Or?

While the 2024–25 season officially came to a conclusion after the stunning 3-0 victory of Chelsea over Paris Saint-Germain in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup, all eyes are now on the Ballon d’Or 2025.

The Ballon d’Or has been awarded an annual prize by France football to the most excellent football player in a certain year.

Just like in earlier editions, the 2025 award has yielded a considerable excitement among football fans about who should win one of the most coveted individual prizes in sport.

With the 30-man nomination list that will be released next month, the following five players are considered the front runners to win the Ballon d’Or from 2025:

Ousmane Dembele

Paris Saint-Germain Forward Ousmane Dembélé is generally considered the favorite to conquer the prestigious individual honor after an incredible campaign with the Parisians. And it is a dream that Dembele wants to update. He won an unprecedented four -fold and finished second place in the club World Cup with PSG, scored 35 goals and offered 16 assists in all competitions.

The 28-year-old claimed the Ligue 1 Golden Boot and Player of the Season Award, together with the UEFA Champions League Best Player Acolade.

Lamine Yamal

Barcelona Teenage Sensation Lamine Yamal is seen as Dembélé’s close challenger in the race for the Ballon d’Or.

The young person played a crucial role in the domestic success of Barcelona and helped to secure the club a la Liga and Copa del Rey Double, including the elimination of Real Madrid. He also contributed to the end of Spain second in the UEFA Nations League. His count of 18 goals and 25 assists in all competitions underlines his interest in the triumphant campaign 2024-25 of Blaugrana.

Raphinha

Yamal’s teammate Raphinha is also a strong competition for this year’s prize, who has been instrumental in the great season of Barcelona. He noted 34 goals and 25 assists and finished as the joint-top scorer in the Champions League.

The 21 target contributions of the 28-year-old in Europe Elite Competition (13 goals and eight assists) corresponded to the record of Cristiano Ronaldo of all time in the 2013–14-17 goals and four assists season.

Mohamed is wrong

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is also in the mix for the Ballon d’Or after a record-break season with the Reds.

The 33-year-old Egyptian international was crucial for the Liverpool triumph in securing a record-equal 20th top-flight League title. Salah yielded 34 goals and delivered 23 assists in all competitions.

The former Chelsea -Man also took the Premier League Golden Boot, the Playmaker Award, the Premier League player of the season and the FWA football player of the year. His 29 goals and 18 assists set a new record for the most target statements in a 38-game Premier League season.

Kylian Mbappe

Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappé enjoyed a fantastic debut season in Spain and is another name that is strongly recommended for the Ballon d’Or.

Although the French star started the campaign slowly, he finished in a spectacular form and was at the top of the La Liga scorkaart with 31 goals – enough to claim the European Golden Shoe prior to Sporting Lisbon’s mystery -like Spitsor Gyökeres.
