Days after the suicide incident of IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Sandeep Lather also tragically ended his life and was found dead in a room constructed near an agricultural field in Rohtak district. Ladhot village Tuesday. He left a ‘final comment’ in which he made explosive allegations about IPS Y. Puran Kumar of corruption.
This comes as police have recovered a suicide note from Y. Puran Kumar in his pocket during the investigation, where he named the IPS’s top IAS officer, accusing them of caste discrimination and mental harassment. Y. Puran Kumar shot himself with his service revolver at his residence in Chandigarh.

Sandeep Lather came out Jinds Julianaa city in the state of Haryana. His father was a former inspector in the Haryana Police. Sandeep’s father also died by suicide years ago, now his son has also died after committing suicide. He was the only brother among five sisters. Sandeep Lather was recognized by CM Najab Saini for his dedicated service. He lived with his maternal uncle Ladhote village while serving in Rohtak. He was reportedly placed in the cyber cell and was also at the SP office earlier.

I am a corrupt officer.” [referring to Y Puran Kumar] has taken money to exclude some names in a murder case registered with Sadaar police station and he struck a Rs 50 crore deal to remove Rao’s name Onderjeet [a Gurugram based businessman]. Narendra Bijarniya is an honest officer who stood against him. Bijarniya bears his expenses from his salary and he has helped the police. The IG started targeting the police on the basis of caste and he started giving posts to corrupt persons from his community.”
According to reports, Sandeep Kumar accused Y Puran Kumar of orchestrating a “Rs 50 crore deal” to get a person named Rao Onderjeet released from a case. Sushil Kumar, assistant to IPS officer Puran Kumar was arrested by the Rohtak Police for allegedly stealing Rs. 2.5 lakh bribe in Y. Puran Kumar’s name on October 6. A day later, Kumar committed suicide. Police confirmed that ASI Sandeep was instrumental in the arrest of Sushil Kumar. He also claimed that Y. Puran Kumar sexually harassed female police officers, fired officers and selected his own hand-picked officers.
