Kartik first came to prominence when he made his debut with a century in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25. He is an exciting youngster known for his pure power-hitting ability. Kartik made his T20 debut and List A debut in November and December the same year.
Interestingly, Kartik’s journey started with street cricket. Born into a middle-class family, Kartik had to work his way up before switching to a structured education at a local cricket academy. He became the favorite of coaches because of his natural stroke play and aggressive approach. Kartik became a consistent performer at U-16 level after he started playing U-14 cricket for the state.
His breakthrough came at the U-19 level with a list of prominent achievements. Kartik has previously mentioned in interviews that he is an admirer of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli.
At the age of 19, Kartik’s ability received recognition from Jindal South West (JSW). The renowned group is known for managing emerging elite and established athletes such as Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra. Kartik has played nine List A matches and scored 445 runs and 334 runs while scoring 118.03 and 162.92 respectively. Except for eight first-class matches,
Kartik was the second uncapped player to sign C.S.K after Prashant Veer. Both are included in the five-time champion’s lineup for INR 14.20 crore in Abu Dhabi on December 16. CSK had no IPL 2025 to remember as they finished bottom of the points table for the first time in their history. With Kartik-like signings, they are aiming for a much better performance next season.
