Whittaker vs Gavazi: fight time, undercard, prediction and ring walks

Whittaker, who has held the IBF international light heavyweight championship since June last year, heads to Birmingham to take on his German opponent, who comes into this match in good form.

Gavazi is on a 19-fight winning streak, but Whittaker is undefeated in his professional career. He makes amends for a first draw against Liam Cameron by stopping him in the rematch earlier this year.

Now Whittaker, the 2020 Olympic silver medalist, takes on Gavazi for the vacant WBC Silver light heavyweight belt.

In what will be his first fight signing for Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom promotion, the Wolverhampton-born 28-year-old will be out to make a statement.

Saturday night’s undercard is expected to start around 7pm GMT.

Ring walks for the main event aren’t expected until around 9:30pm GMT, although that’s obviously likely to change.
