Four narrow games, three wins, two games that work on Extras and Both games in A-Ball, both go 10 innings, ending victorious. With the exception of Mercurial Charlotte, the White SOX system learned on Saturday how to win!
Nashville Sounds 5, Charlotte Knights 4 ((Status box))
While Charlotte (49-51) would scrape back in this game to make it close, the truth is that Nashville’s four-run second, finished from TJS-Rehabbing Starter Jesse Scholtens, almost everything that was necessary for the victory. In general it was a bleak effort, with only seven hits and seven hard hits, against nine ks, the attack pushed scarce runners into a score position. And Scholtens was not all the fault of the poor, because Jared Shuster was sloppy in immediate relief. All said that this could have been a run -away loss.
A bright spot? Jacob Gonzalez, somewhat curious called from Birmingham in the aftermath of the SOX that Tristan Gray sold to Tampa, hit 0-out-4 but was one of only two knights with two hard hits in the game.

Birmingham Barons 6, Montgomery Biscuits 4
So the barons (56-39) finally took only one day off their ruthless wins of mid-late July, making it 13 of 14 victories and the first place enriched (general And second half) in the Southern League. Tonight was a Blitzkrieg of paper cuts, because Bham expanded the benefit to 6-0 at the center before the cookies woke up for breakfast; Montgomery threw three in the ninth, making the latter look closer than the experience of almost 3,800 on Regions Field. Jake Palisch stuck with a scoreless start, but given the short four innings he was handed over, he did not qualify for the victory. Rikuu Nishida, Matt Hogan and Calvin Harris had two hits each, with Harris the only batter for Bham to note extra bases.

Winston-Salem Dash 5, Aberdeen Ironbirds 4 (10 innings)
If the concession lines were long despite only 2500 in Ripken Stadium today, and somehow you were forced to miss a middle part of the competition (say, the third to the sixth innings), you have avoided a bullet – no score between the two worst teams in the Sally. And in fact you would be forgiven that you think the dashboard could kiss 3-2, for an easy victory that would attract them within half a game of the horrible Ironbirds.
Aberdeen, however, got a new arrival Jonathan Clark for a run in the seventh, and the game got stuck due to the regulation.
In the 10th the bats woke up on both sides. The good news? Wilber Sánchez chose a fantastic time for his second longball of the season and shot a two-run shot in the upper half:
Phil Fox, for the rescue, allowed two land outs that the Manfred Man van Aberdeen saw scoring, but no more. The dashboard (36-57) are just a sneeze from the Sally’s basement!

Kannapolis Cannon Ballers 5, Carolina Mudcats 4 (10 innings)
No, this is not an administrative error with the high-a score cut from above and stuck, both A-Ball matches went 10 innings and ended in 5-4 victories for the White Sox. That happened, what, zero times ever?
There are many things that happened in this exciting game, but Caleb Bonemer must be cited for awesomeness, who tries to defeat the left field wall in Five County Stadium; The Rookie SS thiefs the metal twice and the other time he missed came as a result of clocking a ball over the high wall for a homer.
Abraham Núñez, who had a rough 2025, was the hero of today, with the GWRBI in the 10th:
And Núñez rode new (finally!) Baller Adrian Gil, now of the ACL after the conclusion of the Rookie Ball season:
Reliever Ethan Hammerberg is also back in the entire season after more than a year away, did not threw at all in 2024; His debut was not so hot, with a bloated salvation and three walks in his frame.
