Memphis Redbirds 6, Charlotte Knights 3 ((Status box))
The pitching of the knights (55-64) was essentially their downfall on Sunday, while Jonthan Cannon struggled with Charlotte with Charlotte, which led it to a fifth loss in a row while he fell to the Redbirds (64-54), 6-3.

Cannon started the game in rough form with a lead-off single and a two-run home run to quickly put Memphis on it. The knights had cut the lead in half in the second half of the inning with an RBI-Double from Will Robertson, but the same formula worked for the Redbirds in the second inning: a walk and a dinger allow Memphis to take a three-run lead.

The Charlotte attack then took a nap for about eight innings, out-hit 10-6 by Memphis and only hit 1-out-6 with runners in a score position. They tried to chip away late in the game when Corey Julks stamped a solo-home run’s second hit of the day and joined Robertson as the other multi-hit game. The only other run that was driven in for the knights was on a long ball from Tim Elko on the bottom of the ninth, who would have bound that Wikelman González had not given up a two-run tank the inning earlier. Charlotte would unfortunately have to eat the loss, and hopefully the day off will use to reset and get back on the right track.

Birmingham Barons 6Pensacola Blue Wahoos 3
The Blue Wahoos (58-55) jumped out to an early three-run lead in the first three innings against Righthander Panner McDougal, but the barons (69-45) fought back and eventually won the game, 6-3, 6-3, 6-3, 6-3, 6-3, to bounce back from their back-to-pack-pack. McDougal gave those three points on six hits, including a two-run home run from Pensacola in the bottom of the first, and another RBI single in the bottom of the third, but he did not walk out of it and threw four out.

In the relief of McDougal, the lefthander Tyler Schweitzer, who played in the Lange Helprol and was excellent for four innings by giving up only two hits and eventually winning the victory – are fifth. The rest of the barons bullpen was somehow even more efficient, and neither Mark McLaughlin nor Garrett Schoenle allowed a hit and each hit one, in which Schoenle earned his seventh salvation of the season.

The Birmingham bats started to fire as soon as the pitching locked, and the Blue Wahoos helped by making an error that two runs could score for the barons in the top of the fourth. They kept it rolling in the sixth when DJ Gladney tied it to three hit on a single, just in time for Calvin Harris to shoot a three-run shot and take a 6-3 lead.

The attack had six hits in the night with quite a few possibilities to score and ended 2-from-16 with runners in a score position. They also walked four times and were absolute threats on the bases, and hit 6-out-6 in stolen bases.

Asheville -Tourists 5Winston-Salem Dash 3
The dashboard (44-68) corresponded to the tourists (48-64) in hits (nine), but Asheville was more in time with their RBIs and defeated Winston-Salem, 5-3, to take the series. The dashboard had actually first scored in the bottom of the second to take a 1-0 lead when Drake Logan produced a point after walking to get base. Logan Stal Second and was moved to third place on a single by Jackson Appel, only for Kyle Lodise to drive him in with a sacrificial battle on the next battle.

Lefthander Lucas Gordon had made his 19th start of the season for Winston-Salem, and was fairly solid until the third inning when he got two points on two singles, a stolen base and the choice of a Velder, who allowed the tourists to take a 2-1 lead. He gave up another in the fourth after a single was second to be driven on a double to the middle to make a 3-1 lead for Asheville before he was pulled out with two. The dashboard eventually used five relievers for the rest of the game and gave only four hits in combination with seven strikeouts and zero walks, although Luke Bell got two more points in the eighth of the eighth that the tourists brought first.

Although the dashboard had nine hits, they went 3-out-12 with runners in a score position while they were behind. Alec Makarewicz, Jeral Perez and TJ McCants all had multi-hit days, with Makarewicz riding in a run in the fifth and McCants who ride a double in the bottom of the ninth in the last run. Unfortunately, Samuel Zavala and Perez could not maintain the rally and the tourists won the game.

Augusta Greenjackets 5, Kannapolis Cannon Ballers 4
The Ballers (52-62) had taken a two-run lead in the fourth, but Liam Paddack had a rough sixth inning with which the Greenjackets (61-49) could score four to beat Kannapolis, 5-4 to be swept and let their eighth game fall in a row. Colby Shelton hit a two-run bomb in the bottom of the fourth to put the first runs on the board and put Kanny 2-0, giving starter Justin Sinibaldi some much needed support, especially because he struggled with his control and four batters in his 4 1/3 innings compared to one strikeout.

Paddack was efficient when he came in to replace Sinibaldi and got the two necessary outs, but he had a hard time in the fourth when he gave up the equal run before he was pulled with runners on the corners, allowing Jake Peppers to go with the mess that was made. Unfortunately, he gave up a two-squeeze that the Greenjackets set up two and then gave one of his own on an RBI single to make it, 5-2, Augusta.

The ballers had only received five hits, and Arxy Hernández did what he could attempt to get back into the bottom of the ninth, while he stamped a two-run shot before Grant Magill bumped the game to end the game and tap another in the L-Kolom.
