Where to watch/listen: Horse racing coverage December 26-29

We have reached the unique point on the North American horse racing calendar where there are no thoroughbred tracks in operation for a day – next Thursday, as the racing community joins everyone else in celebrating the Christmas holidays. Several major tracks are back on Friday, December 26, but this year the traditional highlight on the day after Christmas, opening day at Santa Anita Park, will be postponed two days due to the forecast of heavy rain in Southern California this week.

The opening day of Santa Anita’s Classic meet is now set for Sunday, December 28, with six stakes races scheduled, and the December 27 Saturday card at the track has been moved to Monday, December 29. All the action on “The Great Race Place” will be broadcast live on FanDuel TV. That network will also show live racing from tracks including Gulfstream Park, Turfway Park and Laurel Park during the three-day weekend after Christmas.

NYRAsAmerica’s Day at the Races” will present live racing from Aqueduct and Oaklawn Park in three programs this weekend.”America’s Day at the Races‘ is broadcast FOX Sports – check the schedule below for channels and times.

Horse racing from tracks around the world is available to subscribers at Racetrack Television Network (RTN)which can be streamed live on all devices (computer, tablet and smartphone) and on TV via DISH Network, Amazon Fire and Roku
