It’s Dodge Charger Six Pack Scat Pack Day in America, and the straight-six muscle car seems like a real turning point for our auto industry. It will either be the future of gas-powered muscle, or it will be an odd footnote in Mopar history. If anything, it got me thinking about the current American auto industry as a whole, and it brings me to today’s question.
I want to know what you all think is the best American car on sale right now. You have to be above the rest, right? I mean, there’s plenty to choose from right now. We have a whole range of pick-up trucks, which – in my opinion – are the best in the world. We also have plenty of sports cars to choose from, such as the Mustang and Corvette. And who could forget our off-roaders like the Wrangler and Bronco? Of course there is plenty of junk, but we don’t have to go through it all. We try to stay positive here.
My choice
Anyway, if you ask me, I think the Corvette E-Ray is the best American car on sale today. I know it’s cliché to say the answer is a Corvette, but it’s hard to argue that this thing doesn’t take the cake.
You really can’t fault a 6.2-liter V8 hybrid with 655 horsepower, which gets 24 mpg on the highway, has all-wheel drive and goes from 0-60 in 2.5 seconds. Yes, I know the ZR1X is even crazier, but that car is honestly too much for the average everyday guy, and certainly too much to use on a daily basis. Because E-Ray can easily be used every day, and that versatility is what makes it so great in my eyes. The looks may not be for everyone, but it’s hard to argue with how great everything else is
