Friday fun from the past – things we remember
It was 2004 as a youth film Hip hip time! premiered and the then 17-year-old Amanda Renberg made her first major role as the character Sofie who works together with Amanda (Ellen Fjesstad) and Emma (Linn Persson) are going to seventh grade – at a new school.
High school is big, and not exactly as they imagined. The main character Sofie gets drunk and passes out at a party, the brash Sofie gets stuck in a photo that someone then starts spreading. Everything falls apart and Sofie loses all her friends, and things don’t get better when Dad (Björn Kjellman) hears about the photos… In the middle of all this, she befriends Sebbe (Filip Berg), and soon Sofie realizes that she must avenge her perpetrator.
Amanda: Hip hip time! would be my breakthrough
When Amanda Renberg got the lead role in Hip hip time! she immediately felt that this would be her ticket to the acting elite.

Amanda Renberg: ‘Was too young to be famous’
Shortly after the debut, Amanda Renberg was linked to actor Mikael Persbrandt for a period. Amanda Renberg was only 17 years old at the time and Mikael Persbrandt was just over 40.
– It was hard and I felt very bad, Amanda Renberg explained when she denied the love rumor The evening newspaper 2005.
A few years ago, Amanda Renberg did an interview with News24stating that she was probably too young to become that famous in the early 2000s.
— You shouldn’t have to become famous at 17, but I don’t regret it. There was so much about “Hip Hip Whore” and high school. I was just starting to explore life with alcohol, guys – all that. It was a bit of a shame that you didn’t have better control and knew how to deal with it, she said on the site.
This is what Amanda Renberg is doing today
In 2012, Amanda left Sweden and lived with Mattias in a small flat in London for a while. She then worked as a model, actor and even as a babysitter while visiting many pubs and exploring the vibrant nightlife.
