Twelve-year-old NFL veteran and super bowl champion AQ Shipley currently has a 9.2 handicap and says that the driver is the best club in his bag, thanks to a reliable Carry of more than 300 meters from the T-shirt. But during the episode of this week, much of the conversation did not concentrate in the golf game of Shipley, but his football career, and especially his time playing at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers alongside Tom Brady. What was it like to be in the presence of the goat of the NFL? Shipley shared a great story with hosts Colt Knost and Drew Stoltz.
“I’ve never been close to such a person,” said Shipley about Brady. “I am close to great players. I am near Larry Fitzgerald and Ben Roethlisberger, Andrew Luck and Reggie Wayne and all these great players eventually become Hall of Famers, right? And when [Brady] Walked in there – and you don’t realize it until I don’t know, maybe halfway through the season – but only the way in which he rises everyone around him by keeping people responsible. I have never seen anything like this in my life. “
Shiepley then quoted a specific moment of Brady that made a lasting impression on him.
“One day I watched film after the exercise and you know, the recipients walk, it is just like 7 out of 7,” Shiepley began. “And I look at Brady Throw and everyone and know you, he touches this receiver, he touches that recipient, he touches this tight end, he touches that tight end, and then gronk is up. So it is him and gronk gronk over the middle. Gronk touches and runs 50 yards for a touchdown after and it is just 7 things, good?
“And I had something like that, ok, I get it. I get why New England was so good for so long, because you thought that was a full speed in the Super Bowl, the way in which it caught that, came up on the field and ended through the end zone, more than anyone else in that team,” Shipley continued. “And Mike Evans is in that team. Chris Godwin is stated in that team. Stud recleasers, right? I mean, Cam Brate was a stick roll, all these guys, but the way those two things were in practice. I was like, ok, every representative means something.
“And then, now everyone starts to do that, right? Now the attacking line will pick it up. And then when you normally go between a normal Wednesday practice and the attack, the defense goes, while the defense is, the attack is. Well now bradies grabs that in the course of 17, 18 weeks and suddenly gets 500 more repetitions.”
“There is a reason why he’s the goat,” said Knost.
“That’s right,” Shiepley replied.
